All Mountain Twins

OK so just wondering what you reckon would be some good twin tips for someone who mainly does all mountain skiing but is looking to venture into the terrain park a bit as well. Should I bother buying some twins or forget that idea all together and just get something like Bandits?

rossi b2, its got a pretty big twin on it, and rides awsome out of park.

ya like he said the b2 has a good sized twin for an all mountain ski, they're super sick skis for sure, but quite a few twins are pretty good all mountain like the maverick or the even the pe or 1080

yea, but just the fact that he says he wants to ''venture'' into the terrain park this season, the b2 rides better then any twin our there. its a super sick ski. Where do you live anyway, if your looking to try out some boards, come to the stratton consumer test fest dec 14. K2, Salomon, Dynastar, Rossi, Fischer, and 4frnts will be avialible to test for free.

Also, if you are looking for an all-mountain with a turned up tail (I wouldn't call it twin tipped really), look at the Volkl 724 line, too.

last years K2 twin tip, the enemy, is sick for all around the mountain but not that great for park. They are also real cheap right now.

Seriously look at the Volkl V pro. Super stiff ski, rocks the park/pipe, and kills all mountain. Possibly the best all around ski on the market right now.

I'm tellin' ya trouble makers, but get 'em in a longer length. they're kinda soft but light weight.

However if you want something that's not a twin go with the Dynastar Ski Cross 10

yeah the volkl 724 series would be a good ski for you, rossi b series (heard many people say that the b1 is the best ski out on the market right now) head monster75 would work to.

TM's would be good because they have a relatively medium size 78 under foot.

Head Mojos are fat and sturdy and a decent park ski if you decide to hit up jumps too.

Armadas are surprisingly good out of the park as well.

One thing to look for in an all mountain ski is sidecut, and Troublemakers have almost none.

Whoever it was that said DBs... they might be sick skis, but they're friggin expensive as hell and take over a month to get.

^^ neither do the 4frnts and they are an all mountain design.

all mountain skiis are overrated, its hard to get something good out of both worlds.

eihter you get a fat ski or a thin

I guess I think of all mountain in a different way.. just because 4frnt says there all mountain doesn't mean they ski all mountain good. A ski with more sidecut, like my racing skis, is going to turn a whole lot better and easier than the Troublemakers. I liked my volkls for all mountain tho.

-Pat

I've heard the K2 AK Launcher/Work Stinx skis are suprisingly 'turny.' They might have a 90mm waist (89 on the WS), but they have a pretty generous sidecut - which I think is more important for an all mtn ski.

Zag skis look like they have a lot of promise...

if your strapped for cash, get the candides.

so they touch there skis now?-my grandma after watching RFA

how are the candides...i had the twinboard concepts and i broke them my 3rd time out...my shop that i bought them at sent them back to dynastar and they sent me back candides but i havent got to use them yet

P-JO, more sidecut doesnt necessarily mean it turns better. just quicker. some people like a wider sidecut like the 25.9m sidecut on the 4frnts. just makes for nice highspeed fat turns.

Oh yeah, I see how that works, I was just thinking how on my race skis the sidecut allows my edge to grip and the front of the ski to flex. My troublemakers can't get an edge worth shit, and the front defenitely won't flex a lot, but I also understand thats how park skis are, and about the wider turns. I just don't see why more sidecut wouldn't hurt to put on the ski.

-Pat

yeah but you need a coke barron's salary to afford them.

'Dude, check out this nasty gouge.'

'Your mom has a nasty gouge.'

im just gonna sling crystal meth so i dont have to get a real job and can afford to ski, with the way my senior year is goin though thats probably one of my few options

I really like the Public Enemies even in the POW and there cheap.

Holy shit, I tried my madtrix for the first time yesterday, they are sick. They carve as well as my slalom race skis(but they are larger radius turns) theyre rock solid straightlining runs, and are so damn stable in air, good on steeps. I had no idea these skis would be so damn good for all mountain freeride use. I Recomend these for all mountain use, even if you dont spend much time in the terrain park.

the stiffer of the twins will always be better for all mountain. Volkls, Heads, Atomics. Good stuff.

i ski all mountain and i dont fucking want a ski with alot of sidecut thats how you blow your acl out to start. Plus skiing pow and crud you dont need sidecut

'Don't fuck with me 'cause I'm going to delete everything you ever post and have ever posted - Flanker, A moderator

Are you refering to the side cut head mad trix have? I though they would want to make tight turns, but they prefer big sweeping turns, and are rock solid at high speeds.Im guessing this is because they have alot of camber

what the hell are you talking about blow an acl because of too much sidecut?? Do you know what sidecut is? I don't even know what you people are talking about anymore.

Sidecut helps you turn, it makes your edge grip, it makes turns sharper if you want, and more effortless...I don't know about going off jumps with more sidecut, but it seems like you'd be alright.
