Hey iam goin out to banff pretty soon and iam looking at picking up a new pair of skis out there, i was wondering if u guys could help recomend some good all mountain twins. As of right now iam leaning more toward the dumonts. I ski in the east we dont get very much snow and i ski mostly park but when ever the conditions are good pow etc. i try and get in as much tree and steep skiing as i can. I might be using this ski in banff as well so i want somthing that can handle pow. Thanx
 
well the ARV and the Scratch BC are both awesome cuz they are great in pow or the park. but if you ski the east alot you will probably not get as many pow days and the dumonts or the AR6 would be a great choice. like i said though, the BC and ARV's shred everything
 
well banff is pretty sweet but it depends were ur going to ski, if ur going to ski norquay mostley a park ski will be fine, if ur going to go out to sunshine and lake more often u prob want a ski with 90 at the waist and up...but the foil is a solid ski for the conditions we have and can still do it in the east...the edges arent the greatest thoe if u do lots of rails
 
a little extra info i ski lots of rails and i need a ski that can really hold on in icy conditions thanx for any input
 
skiing a lot of rails and holding on icy conditions doesnt go together. but i thinkthe foil or ar6 would be a good ski for u
 
I definitely think a pair of Salomon Teneighty Gun, Foil, or the Dumont would be best for the park. Otherwise go for the Volkl Mantra or Dodgen.
 
the AR6s are pretty sweet skis, they carve great switch, handle rails like a champ, and are the fastest twins I have ever seen. They will float good enough too as long as you stick with a little longer length. the 176 has that 85mm waist, so it will float.
 
yea i just found out that my bindings are gonna take 2 weeks to get here so i wont be skiing my new skis in banff so ive narrowed it down to the karamas, ar6 or dumont but we will see what else i see out west.
 
a large twin, but not huge and soft. the elan mo2.2 is what I have in the east and I rode them last year in utah in 4 feet+ of pow (I had/have the protos)it has lots of flotation and is not as soft as the seths...which my friend snapped riding park. there is the mojo 90. I demoed them...dint like them at all, but everyone has different tastes. demoed some salomon foil...love them, but be sure to take an extra lenght. they are light and flexy.the others, I cannot tell since I havent tried them. k2 public enemy? lines? 4frnt slt? rossi bc? etc.
 
well u do lots of rails so i beleive the thickest edges are on the AR6...but pretty much u want the thickest sdges if u ask me and i think its the AR6 thats gots em
 
Seths would be my choice if I had to use one ski on every kind of snow. Though after using my Madens so much this season, I might actually consider something a little fatter. Both skis are fun as hell in the park.
 
Who are you to make that statement? Maybe they are the best one ski quiver for you, but the ARV and BC are both really similar with different flex patterns. Maybe the Mojos are too stiff for him, you dont know.

 
aer you crazy? tm's are made for park = no good at all anywhere else. read the reviews to back that up..

they have a 78 waist too, which also is a no no
 
I ride my fujatives everywhere too, but I havent ridden a true all mountain twin, so I cant make a statement like "they rip everywhere" because I cant compare them to anything. So unless you own the Seths, ARV's, BC's Blends, etc, you cant make that statement either.
