All Mountain Skis

I'm just starting to look into getting a pair of fatter, all mountain boards and wanted to see some of your guys imput. I would preferably want a pair of twins (but not necessary). I want something that can float the powder and bust through the crud, but still has resort capabilities (ie, groomers, hardpack, moguls). Right now I'm thinking about something like the Pistols or Moships, but am not sure what else to look at. Don't bother replying unless you actually explain why/why not you like/dislike a ski. Thanks!

the pistol's too mmuch to be a really good resort ski, i'd get a ski skinnier than 95 mm for that...

no idea abotu the moship, haven't used them

it sounds like the lbf would be really good fo rwhat you want..

The LBF is too short for me. I'm 6'5', so I need a bigger ski. Thanks for the actually giving me some good information though.

you could go with the dynastar nobis inspired... same ski as the LBF, different topsheet, and comes in a 188. 88mm at the waist is pretty versatile.

I have BC's, I love the skis. They float on the powder, and then i can take them to the park and rip it up. I only need one pair of skis. After riding my BC's all last season, i cant go back to a skinnier ski, just doesnt feel normal at all. My one complaint is that the topsheet or whatever you want to call it scratches really easily.

185 arv, i skied the 175 tons of pop, and really liviley on the groomers, the rocked in the park. the 185's might be a good choice

I got the Mantis, they bust through anything, nice dampening, they feel real stable at speed. they can lay down a nice carve and they still float in deep stuff. very stiff. only bad thing I can say about them is they got some heft: 4.5 lbs per ski unmounted, just something to consider. If you got a lot money to blow, look at the Scream 10 xtra hot.

you can narrow that list down depending how badly you want a twin tip or not. Do you want to ride switch 180's into powder, switch take offs, carving switch landing switch in tha park? all the skis you listed are kick ass. look for sidcut too, something with a larger turning radius like around 20 allows you to still bank nice tight turns on the groomers. Unless you like less side cut which is better for blasting through crap and riding deep pow. like 4 frnt's turns radius.

try to demo as many as you can, and keep your eyes peeled for deals, almost any ski on that list will probably make you a happy camper.
