ALKI 2020 feedback

Hey everyone,

Here is ALKI 2020, a short movie about Alex Bellemare's 2020 season. It's my first ski project in almost 7 years and i'd love to have your feedback on it.

With the season cut short, i wanted to make something that showed Alex, his personality and who he his as a dude, while also showing his skiing and his story of the season.

Trying to keep it simple while also putting out something enjoyable to watch

Im happy you made this thread cuz I wanted to comment this but I thought it would be too long.

This is what I think ski edits should be all about. A relatively short video showcasing the riders personality and skiing without being cringe or trying too hard to prove something. I love how he talked a little about his life and stuff and then it transitioned into skiing without all the extra shit that I find in a lot of edits nowadays (specifically movies are bad for that). Perfect balance of narration and skiing, sick editing, and all around really sick video well done.

Edits like this are the reason why I dislike ig skiers. All ig edits do is waste good songs for some shitty minute long edit that has no personality because theres no b-roll and then those kids are fucked when it comes to making a real edit cuz they wasted all their clips on their ig so every clip is a repost which imo reusing an old clip or a song thats already been used for an edit is super wack.

Real edits like this are the best because Alex for example can look back on this years from now and have a dope edit showcasing how he felt at that moment in time while all these ig kids are gonna have 300 posts worth of trap music infested clips with no personality that they gotta spend hours going through garbage for nothing in the end game. Anything for a little clout I guess

Loved it, I was a big fan of Brotherhood movies back in the day as well, Alex and Jeremy's Kenny G non-stop segment is, to this day, one of my favourites

Personality/non skiing side of things in Alki was really sick to see

I was just as bummed that slvsh cup was cancelled cause I'm sure it would have added more to skiing/personality side of things, not only from Bellemare

Good stuff Xavier and Alex, hope to see more in the future

Thanks a lot! appreciate it. That was the goal for me, show the personnality without going into the cringy territory

Yep, SLVSH would have been so dope, we'd like to do more also! if you want to help out , best way is to share it. Sponsors do love the views count.

I really liked this actually. Its cool to tell a story and put together a good edit that fits with it. That front flip was smooth AF

haven't watched yet so thanks for the reminder

he seems like a good dude and i honestly think he's almost underrated, he's well known but not quite to the level i'd expect for his skiing
