Alibi for partying in hs

So my parents are pretty strict about parties... they usually make me confirm there's adult supervision so that there's no booze etc. by going to the door or whatnot. This is pretty fucking annoying if I want to attend a legit party instead of some sorry ass soda and snacks party with shitty pop music. Who the fuck actually has fun at those? Anyway I digress. How am I supposed to convince my parents to let me go to a party if it's not "supervised"? Should I just say I'm spending the night at a friend's house or something? What if my parents try to contact my buddies to confirm? Anyone know a better alibi?

My views don't necessarily reflect the views of newschoolers underage drinking is bad forums aren't liable for me fucking myself over and whatnot.
 
You will have plenty of time to get drunk when you are older, don't try to hurry it, alcohol is fucking toxic.

Carpe diem? Yolo? Idk. I get the risks of alcohol but I don't drive and don't plan on drinking and driving. I've had beer/liquor several times with my friends and more or less understand my limits (within reason due to my age) but it would be sweet to attend an actual party. People in my grade are such fucking pussies about it though so idek if the oppurtunity will come about but if it does i'd like to be a part of it, you know?

I already drink, and my friends do too, but to actually get to a legitimate party is an entirely different story altogether which is my point

OP I dont know how old you are. If you're like 17/18 then party away. Have fucking fun in high school, learn how to handle alcohol and learn to not be a fucking dickwad when drinking. Just don't over do it and shit's fine.

As for you parents. I dont know. I would always tell them I was sleeping at a friends house. The simpler the story/cover up the better. If you go into too much detail you look suspicious as fuck. Whatever you do, don't get caught.

Thank you. This is the kind of response I was looking for. It'd be a damn shame to go through high school without at least one crazy night... even though college parties will blow any high school party out of the water. Or IF3 parties, lol.

I mean it doesn't even need to be crazy. Some of my better memories from high school were getting together with like 7 friends tops and chillin by a fire playing stupid drinking games.

Or the days when I didn't have a car so my parents had to drive me to the mountain, but I had friends old enough to get beer so we could get drunk and I wouldn't need to worry about driving. That shit was awesome. Because if you can drive but you ask for a ride, thats so sketchy. But see, when you can't drive as is then you're so set... God I wish I was still in high school sometimes haha.

get them to bring you to a movie or something dumb and childish and say one of your friends moms will pick u up, then once theyre gone just go to the party and say you slept at your friends house.

Just try to party as hard as you can without alcohol. Alcohol should be tool for some situations to have more fun, but don't make your life revolve around it.

Well yeah, I agree. I'm not saying OP or anyone should drink heavily every weekend. But a few times is alright. You just gotta learn to be smart about it.

I got caught when I was 15 and my parents dont care as long as I don't get caught now lol. I have a midnight curfew which is no bueno, but acting like you deserve a little freedom and not making it a big deal goes a long way.

I pulled this exactly thing countless times. Parents would drop me off at restaurants, the beach, a movie, the mall, and then I'd sleep over at a friends and it was never an issue. I get the whole parents thing, I'm 20 and im still not straight with my parents about where I'm going.

However, I also agree with most other people in this thred. I never went to a "big party" with the solo cups and tons of people packed into a suburban house during high school. It's really not that big of a deal. There will be better parties in college. For now just getting buzzed in a basement with a couple of your close friends is solid, its a good time and it helps bring your crew closer together. You don't need that big party bullshit right now. Trust me you'll find it at college.
 
Luckily my friend who i usually hang out with has the parties so I just say I'm sleeping over. They also know the parents are chill and trustworthy.

Speaking as a current grade 11; start taking the bus everywhere, literally everywhere, even if your parents offer to drive take the bus. That way they can never know exactly where you are. That being said freedom doesn't mean you should go out and drink yourself unconcious twice every weekend. Start off slow and find your limits, don't take chances. Also never get into a car with a drunk driver; kind of goes without saying but still. And get used to the taste of gum, because it is your best defense against your parents smelling whatever has been through your mouth. Also don't do meth.

I really worried about this when I was like a 9th and 10th grader and wished my grade had more parties and people were more down to drink and stuff. Nothing seemed to be how high school was "supposed to be". I just let it be and still made plans with friends and hung out and went around town and shit and didn't go to parties and drink. That was still a ton of fun and I remember it well. You don't need to go to parties and drink to have fun and do shenanigans.

Then as an upperclassmen the parties started to happen and people started to drink and it was more like what I thought high school was gonna be like when I was younger. Parents got more flexible as I got older, etc, etc. This was also a lot of fun since parties and getting drunk is fun also.

I don't know what grade you are in, but just be patient. It will most likely come eventually.

And if it really isn't and you are still thirsty? Then maybe find some upperclassmen or college students to party with idk

Lol, yeah sometimes shit gets busted. I remember a party near the end of my Junior year, and by like 11, there were cops surrounding the house, banging on windows, and didn't let anyone leave. They made us all (like 75-100 people) stay in the house until either a Parent or guardian(unless you were over 18) came to sign you out haha, shit sucked. most people got sat on the front porch, talked to by the cops, information taken, and they were trying to tell us how horrible we were, and kept threatening all of us that we were gonna be ALL taken to a jail cuz we resisted when they first came to door.

Got out of there with a friends parent, picked up like 4-5 of us (most people got out that way, friends parents)

But thats the only party I've been to thats gotten busted that bad, normally they'll just ask you to be quiet (IF YOURE RESPECTFUL AND NOT OBVIOUSLY A DRUNKEN IDIOT) or tell everyone to leave, so not to big of a risk in my opinion, just sometimes you'll get unlucky and get a bunch of bored cops that get pissed.

But, even with all the cops threats, i never heard a thing about it from the police like they said we would, only that people from my school remember that night as the legendary bust incident (for our grade)

TLDR: Go out, go to parties, have fun, and be safe. sometimes ya gotta risk it for the biscuit

P.S good call on never drinking and driving, that shit pisses me off when people do that, its so dumb. so incredibly stupid and irresponsible
 
If parents restrict a kid that much while he's still in high school, he's going to go fucking crazy in college. I'm not saying his parents should drop him off a huge house party, but they also shouldn't have you on a 3 foot leash. How old/what grade are you in, OP?

16, sophomore. They're not as overprotective as people are implying they are, and I've been caught drinking/blazing up before. They didn't go nuts but expressed their "disappointment" in me. I'll try and have a talk with them about being a little more relaxed, tho.

One time was when I neglected to throw away one of my beer cans, another was when my mom stumbled across my bong. The latter really pissed me off cuz that was a decent piece of glass she tossed in the trash.

i didn't view my response as hating on you. i'm the same age, and i party sometimes, but i think it's the best idea to do it before your parents are okay with you doing it. if you lie to them and they find out you lied, shit will hit the fan and you probably will never see a beer keg until college. just wait until you're a little older and your parents trust you with making the right decisions. everyone drinks underage, it's just a matter of if you're responsible while doing it or just being plain dumb.

Is high school drinking really that out-of-the-ordinary in the states??

I've been drinking and going to parties since like mid grade 9.. same with everyone else in Toronto lol

How can you guys expect to have reasonable adults who can hold their liqour when you don't let anyone touch it until they're 21
