Alex Hall Core?

I don’t think he got what he was going for. From the looks of it he was trying to press his noses into a 180 but he just couldn’t find the sweet spot.

I like his thinking I just wish he went the Vinny Gangier route for creativity rather than the knuckle huck 2.0 route. Ended up feeling like a wasted spot imo.

imo i think being creative in big air is like what edjoy did on his first hit, like a really unique axis, not purposefully knuckling a jump. i love seeing unique axis with stupid amounts of rotation rather than a massive cork 180 cuz yknow its big air. love ahall, but this wasnt it.

If he landed it we would be having a different conversation tbh. In fairness to a hall he did land the first 2160 last year, so if theres a trick out there he's struggling with, I take it the trick is just incredibly fucked and hope he can stick it next year.

So a cork 360 would score a 72 on a scale of 0-50?

It’s simple. Judges only judge based on how much you spin. This proved it.

all you guys dogging him please go try to butter the knuckle off that big air jump and then tell me he wasted a spot.

if he was going for a legit butter, than I'm here for it.

Bros already won the event and is trying to progress the sport. Respect to that even if it isn’t pretty off the bat. Also cork 180 was baller

I'm sorry I am going to have to give a thumbs down there ... don't know how doing something planned on a landing other than just landing could be seen as anything else as dope and as potentially breathing a new air into the big air event which can and has in some instances gone stale.

Fortunately, this big air was actually dope af and not stale by any means... some recent FIS big airs, not so much ....

The switch dub 14 to switch three bounce was a legit trick given a legit score...I can see AHall's next move for that to put a little tail press/butter in that switch three bounce (if that is at all possible) , in that case that would make for something that could breach 45 I would think ...

Maybe that was a little harsh on that lol ... I can understand personal preference and what you are saying in general, but regardless of that, the road to progression isn't always super clean and minty right out of the box

A lot of new wave stuff took a lot of flack when that came out, and now that might be what is really helping the sport not get swallowed by snowboarding I would think

This is NS, your response wasnt harsh enough, you are supposed to attack my character and call me a moron at the very least.

If buttered I'd find it a lot more appealing. The reason I didn't like it was because it just makes my knees hurt and just seemed uncomfortable (as knuckling a jump is uncomfortable)

cork 180 was so sick, it was my favorite trick in the entire comp

He's kind of passively changing the game with that knuckle bounce shit. He could win if he wanted to but instead pushing a new approach on skiing which is very sick. He is hesh asf

Do you guys remember him doing the double tip grab in his dub a few years ago. I was wanting to see that again so bad

Did a hall waste his spot in big air or was not trying to spin to win core?

he went for creativity tbh I think he knew the competition was high and didn't wanna be lame and just tried to have fun. love the guy for that

First was Kuura Koivistohttps://www.instagram.com/p/CL_x1vM...d&ig_rid=7ab63c13-d091-4b4b-a8d1-9f5e9b249e99 . A-Halls was first in comp though.

I just want to see something that isn't a cork, bio, or switch misty in big air. Someone needs to do a triple flat or triple misty 16.

Bro on god triple kang 1260 would be the most bucktarded shit ever.

or just different grabs with shit, I wanna see a single bio 1980 with a muffin grab or somethin

Oscar Wester, Bruce Oldham (i think) and a few other guys have done trip

flat 12. So much gnarlier than a triple cork because you're going ass

over head and there aren't good bail points. I have to give Ragettli

props for the switch triple misty a few years ago too that shit was insane

Gotta respect the fact that he’s probably the GOAT skier and he’s doing things so much differently than everyone else. That cork 1 was cool as fuck

unrelated but how did ahall not get a 50 last year for a just as clutch and just as clean nbd 2160. still won but

Because no one should get a perfect score. Its the dumbest fucking decision a judge can make.
