Alcohol -yes or no (while on the slopes)

is it O.K. to drink while skiing. one time i jumped of the chairlift and almost fell on some snowboarders. (won $50 though).

no drinks, just water and anything that makes go faster. I can push myself without being drunk. If you do it just for fun, I don't really have a response for that, except you might hurt other people

yeah, get hammered and go skiing. then bomb a hill and take out a bunch of little kids at the bottom so you can laugh as they go out on ski patrol sleds. that will be funny. dont be a fucking dumbass

I don't know that I would consider myself a full on alcohalic, but I definetly drink way too much. I spend prettymuch every night at a bar and get completely ripped. I usually don't drink too much during the day, but it happens.

I don't like drinking on the hill for a variety of reasons. I find its easier to hurt myself, and I would HATE to run into someone and hurt them. I've done it a bunch before and, in hindsight, I was in waaay too many close calls. I notice a large decrease in my rail balance after even a couple beers. All that on top of dehydration? fuck that. I just save my energy for later that night.

Isn't the whole point anyway? Ski all day, drink all night?

All I have to say is that theres a difference between having a couple and skiing and getting shitfaced and skiing.

It seems that every year a drunk guy get's killed or seriously injured on the slopes here at 7 Springs. It doesn't make sense if you think about it. You don't drive drunk in the car, why would you do the same on the slopes? Your coordination is affected to a certain degree no matter how much you have.

Negative, I've had bad experiences getting messed up on the slopes, plus I live far enough away from the mtns I have to do at least an hour of driving.

Getting messed up during the daylight hours is weird too, I much prefer night time.

there is a kid at my school who snowboards, and usually he is pretty good, but he was drunk, and got out of control, hit a tree, broke a couple ribs, tib/fib, arm and collerbone. He is still on crutches. I'm just saying, don't ride drunk, you'll regret it

dude getting buzzed while skiing is completely different from getting hammered. i think it would be stupid to overdo it, but having a few beers makes ya feel pretty damn steezy, and can make for a good sesh. as long as you hav all your wits about you on the hill, i say its fine. just do it in moderation.

fun... until you chug down a bunch of grain alcohol and bail hardcore resulting in a rebroken wrist. YAYA FUN! but skiing drunk is fun... doesn't hurt to fall.

It would seem that only a few of you realize the difference between getting hammered and only having a few drinks...

Too risky. A couple seasons back we were patroling and this guy got all ripped and ate it.. his balder was so full of booze that on impact it ruptured (this could happen with any fluid but this made me think of him) He was all sorts of messed up.

I have a couple beers at lunch sometimes when were just skiing for fun. also when we go out to build or hit features ill usually bring a flask and a coke in my bag or a couple beers. after building a jump for 3 or 4 hours it feels pretty good to chill and have a beer. other then that. I once drank 15 beers and rode at nakiska. I was fucken hammered and ended up falling and splitting my pants. I had no coordination and was almost to drunk to get on a chairlift. stupid. Ill never do that shit again.

you should probably try drinking while night skiing icy glades...and playing football at the same time

if u jumped ur stupid and irresponsible when you drink on the slopes. i get so shitty up there and remain with my ass on the lift. however i am an asshole to the lift opps

well last year at alta I got wasted ( I have pictures of bonging beer in the lift lines) I ended up straight lining the dumbest, crustiest chute in the world. How I did not die I'll never know

if you ever go to mount seymour i dare you to count the beer cans under the chair.really, all the boarders there get wasted in line and on the chair its crazy, and stupid i think

haha, yeah. there is a HUGE, HUGE diff. between havin a few drinks and goin skiing vs getting hammered and trying to ski.

when conditions suck and there isnt much to do, a few drinks are fine. yah just get silly and goof around. but if your drunk as shit and tryin to ski, youll definatly end up fuckin shit up.
