Alcohol kills over 127 thousand people a year in america.

your not counting people who had heart attacks triggered by weed and other complications. Not complications by the effects of weed, but the complications caused by your own reaction to the weed.. 0 is a false statement.

you people are being ridiculous, marijuana cures things like nausea, anxiety, nerve pains, and shit like that, comparing it to an antibiotic is just silly, and doctors do get shit for perscribing medications, not commission but insane trips to tropical locations provided entirely by the drug companies, if they perscribr a lot of a certain medication, doctors get a lot of shit for free if they really want to

^No they don't dipshit. They used too get trips and stuff on which they were supposed to "learn about the drug on" which although still not requiring them to prescribe it, I admit was bull. But those were deemed illegal several years ago.

my parents caught me smoking and they said that they dont care if i do it in college, my dad smokes weed but wont let me till im in college kinda dumb

This is what angers me about this issue.

Cannabis is still an illegal drug and users may face federal prosecution, even in states where medical marijuana use is allowed. HOWEVER,

Apparently, if you need hallucinogenic drugs to enhance your religious belief, thats cool. Supreme Court ruled that way in any case.

its cuz people have invested in the hemp industry. i think that during one of the world wars, they reversed the ban so they could produce ropes for the army and navy. then it was made illegal again.

there main argument is that people will only get high and not do anything good, and maybe cause problems. but shit people will still smoke pot, its not gonna stop anyone if it is illegal, and its not like when ur high you want to do anything except eat twinkies and sit on the couch.

yeah but its fucked a lot of people up for life. that was just a retarded statement. you dont have any idea how the drug works. do you?

I'll say right now that I haven't read the whole thread, but wanted to throw my two cnets in, esp. in response to the original post.

While I agree that pot isn't nearly as dangerous as other things out there, and I think that a lot of time and money could be saved if possessing small amounts of ganj was decriminalized, I think that it's incredibly naive to say that there are 0 deaths as a result of smoking pot. I mean, look at drunk driving. High driving has got to kill some people too. If not a direct result of being high, then maybe falling asleep at the wheel because the driver is high. Honestly, there can't be 0 deaths as a result.

I know that legalizing it would not solve every problem, but there's always fools out there who will fuck up things for others. it would, as a whole, in my opinion, be okay to be legalized.
