Alcohol and pain meds

prom is friday. getting wasted is inevitable. i gotta take 600 mg ibuprofen everyday for an injury.

will the massive amounts of motrin + alcohol = bad news?

 
No you'll be fine, i take Motrin and drink all the time, they don't affect each other. The only thing you have to be careful about it is to not become a heavy drinker and take more than like 1200+ mg a day, it can lead to stomach ulcers.
 
It's not a great idea. I would skip the tylenol that day. It kills your liver. It probably wouldn't do any damage once, but it still gives you a terrible stomach ache.
 
word, taking alcohol enhances the performance of drugs because it inhibits the breakdown of drugs and it also amplifies the effects of the drugs. Chances are you might get drowsy and fatigued but I wouldn't risk it. Don't know exactly what it'll do with motrin in terms of stomach bleeding but I know that aspiring + alochol = greater chance of stomach bleeding
 
thats absolutely retarded. mixing pain killers and drinking is just fucking stupid. maybe not 600mg of ibuprofen one time, but its still not good at all for you. enhances the effects of alcohol and fucks up your stomach. i mean, if you wanna get drunk off like nothing, thats cool or whatever, but i wouldn't fuck with that. pain killers and alcohol can fuck you up.
 
don't take pain killers and drink before your prom. depending on your tolerance you probably wont be able to function. i am 185 pounds and can hold alot of alcohol, i took vicadin from a ski injury then got trashed one night. i basically entered just chilled in a chair all night. definately not a good idea if you plan on being active during the night,
 
dude ibuprofen is perfectly fine to drink on, i do it all the time in the winter if i fuck myself up skiing. vicoden and percs are another matter though, i wouldn't recommend drinking on those.
 
yeah def not a good idea, i got prom this weekend too though, goin down the shore n gettin trashed for 3 straight days.... so pumped
 
Alot of you guys don't understand the difference between regular pain meds and narcotic pain meds. Narcotic pain meds, like vicodin, will fuck you up hardcore on alcohol. They have a multiplicative effect, so combining them really messes you up. Ibuprofen on the other hand (which is motrin) won't do anything to you if you drink. I take it all the time before I go to bed after drinking to assist with the hangover the next morning. As long as you aren't taking HUGE doses and drinking like a fish, you don't have anything to worry about.
 
i was once on codeine because i just got my wisdom teeth taken off and i went to a party and after 4 beers i got real fucked up.

alcohol + painkillers = death
 
haha im not taking it to get fucked up, the alc will do that for me... i was just wondering if i should take it that morning or not, and if it would fuck my liver/stomach up.
 
terrible idea.

it's just bad for your liver, and can lead to stomach bleeding.

just skip the pill that day and drink, the alcohol is enough of a pain killer.
 
I garuntee it won't unless you abuse both of them. I've taken them combined, the only time I've ever had stomach problems from pain meds was before I started drinking and I was taking like 2000 mg of motrin a day.

With motrin you'll be fine as well as ibuprofen in general, same with tylenol. Aspirin and others you need to watch out for.

no they cant tell you're parents, such as if you got an abortion they can't tell anythig to them( if you diidnt want them knowing), i think its if you're a minor.
 
unless your like 13 or 14 the doctor shouldnt care that you drink. its common knowledge that many high schoolers drink. one of my friends has a pace maker and he asked his doctor how much was safe for him to drink in the 7th grade
 
you will be fine. you aren't going to die. regardless of what anyone says, your liver isn't going to explode out of your torso because you drink with 600 mg of motrin. i wouldn't recommend combining the two everyday for the rest of your life, but obviously you aren't faced with that scenario. it's your prom...have fun, get blasted beyond all belief, and be safe (as in don't drive)...if you're that worried about combining the two, just skip the motrin. drink enough and you won't feel anything anyway :)
 
lol yeah, i am under 18. i'm just not going to take it that day, there's no point in risking anything.

and hahahaa i'm not going down the shore, im kickin it hamptons style at a rich kid's house.
