Alaskan Highway

Hey everyone,

I'm planning on driving the Alaskan highway this summer. Wondering if anyone here has done it before. I hear it is about 50 hours of drive time from Vancouver. Is this realistic. I was planing on going day on/day off putting in 16 hour days with 2 drivers to get up there. So 3 days of drive, 3 days of rest, spend some time in Anchorage, and rush back in 3 days. Is this realistic?

Thanks,

Matt

yeah id say you're good to go. 50 hours sounds about right. Its a long trip but its fun and theres a lot of cool things to see and interesting people to meet when you stop. You could stay a little longer and explore more than just anchorage and go to the coast and stuff. take a ferry somewhere? i donno. have fun dude!

you could probably make it up in 3 days if you drove non stop just taking turns driving then you would have more time to spend once you get here. also, beware of construction. theres bunches

uhhhhh i did it in 52 hours from portland to anch and i only slept twice for about 4 hours a pop. you might want to give yourself a little more time if youre doing day on day off.
