Alaskan connections?

so I'm thinking its getting close the the summer time and i don't have a summer job yet ( it sucks i know) plus i have heard of a few ppl going out to Alaska and getting jobs as deckhands on salmon boats just wondering if anyone has any other info on this or possibly some hooks up PM me
 
my dad was a commercail fisherman in alaska.. and one comercial crabbing boats. one of the hardes\t jobs in the world but you make mad bank

i'm working in Bristol Bay this year, sorry, no hookups,

but if you get a job there (or if anyone else has one), hit me up and we'll get drunk or something
 
i have some friends who have done/do that. i dont really have any connections for it though. i dont live anywhere near the coast.
 
haha yeah for surei have been looking into and thats what i am looking for. a salmon boat in bristol bay but if i can get out there i'll hit ya up
 
My friend's little brother is 15 and makes 30k a year doing it. A few summers back that same friend made 50 grand for 4 months of work. Yikes!
 
i fish in summers. great money. but you gotta be willing to work pretty fucking hard. moneys worth it alone tho. if you know anyone on a boat up here personally talk to them a bit more about it.
 
see thats the prob i dont know anyone on a boat up there but i am willing to work hard i just need to get in contact with a few ppl up there who need help for this summer
 
well the whole things is i live in Minnesota so i think it would be quite the risk to just hop on a plane and go there even though that would be sweet i would just like to try and lock something down before going there
 
I work on the Alaska State Ferries, apparently lots of hot chicks come up to SE Alaska and work with all the tourism companies, havent seen any yet though
 
I'll say good luck, its a very competitive spot to get on a fishing boat. everybody wants a job and there aren't that many. your best bet is to know someone, or go up to Alaska and ask around. its intense you have to be able to handle lots a stress well!
