Hes got a point lol

If you're asking for spots to drive to then you should provide where youre starting from at the least

I'm in Alaska, I'll drive anywhere out here. It has to be accessible from foot though

if you were born and raised there then I'd ask some local old heads for guidance and start looking around on caltopo for some potential options and routes. Up to you to decide how much approach and vert your body can take. There's tons of trip reports and random blogs out there to find

Genuine question, isn’t there multiple parts of alaska you can’t drive between, as in they are their own isolated island? So wouldn’t location be important than? Aren’t some drives like over a days worth?

It's more than 1/6 the land mass of the entire US and has many of the highest mountains on the continent, then mf says 'i'm in Alaska where ski?' lmao

A serious answer: have you driven out to Thompson pass yet to see if there's still snow? Got to be plenty of north facing aspects that haven't melted. That's gotta be the closest thing I know of that's (somewhat) easily accessible. Good luck. Or fall in a crevice idgaf just wait till alyeska opens or some shit.

This website is fucked. I got one answer after all those bullshit comments... Thompson Pass, I'll see how far it is from me lmao could've said that off the bat.

Bro it's summer, the snow melts? How dimwitted can you possibly be. Got all these people liking your comments and I bet not a single one of them lives up here. Could've just said Thompson Pass right off the bat but instead you come at me sideways. You feel comfortable talking all that condescending trash on the internet because there's no one to smack you in your face, but I bet you're a whole bitch in person.

I was asking because I heard shit and actually wanted to know from a native and I still am left unsure. Stop assuming everyone’s out to get you, including me because no one is or cares.

No one is after me? LMAO have you seen the comments on this thread? Bunch of douche bags trolling me instead of giving me answers. I want locations to ski, I'm not giving you a fucking lesson about Alaska. Your question was condescending and it wasn't productive to the thread. Again, leave me alone.

My bad on being curious I guess, if I knew anything about summer skiing in Alaska, I would have happily tried to help. threads are never always exactly on topic, they’re open conversation, and in summer NS anything can really happen. Hope you find somewhere to ski and have fun man…

What local old heads? Do I just go up to senior citizens and start asking where the best summer skiing is at? What if they don't ski? Should I show up to the local Bingo game and start interviewing? Tell me dear sir, where do I find the old heads with the knowledge?

bro i dunno why youre so mad at me for you not knowing people in your community where ever tf that is. I was thinking more along the lines of any family friends, people your parents know, friends parents, other skiers etc that enjoy doing shit in the mountains. Do that and research instead of getting all pissy about your hail mary to ns not working immediately lol

I'm not mad at you for "not knowing people in my community". And what do you mean "wherever tf that is"- BRUH it's obviously in Alaska!!!???

I made this thread so people who are familiar with Alaska can drop good locations for me to find some snow in the summer. lmao

Why did you even come to the thread if you don't know shit about Alaska? Can you even answer that question? Seriously, why come to this thread which was specifically made to discuss areas in which snow may be present if you aren't familiar with the territory? You just look like a retard?

Where do you live, seriously? You think just because the snow melts in girdwood it does everywhere in the whole state?

He'd have to go outside and talk to people first (a level: impossible task for many shutin Alaskans like himself). Something about that winter does things to people

Anchorage, I've only been skiing at Hatcher's but the snow is almost gone so I need new locations. Where do live?

What did I do to you to make you so salty? Are you always this sensitive?

I don't know if this is how everyone on here operates, but I've been on here for a month and a half and so far NewSchoolers is a complete waste of time. From what I see, the website if made up of people who come on here purely to antagonize folks or give smart-ass responses. It's interesting to see all you trying gang up on me (on the internet too which makes yall look like a bunch of dick-riding pussies). But you seem to get a bunch of likes on your comments so people on here definitely enjoy that shit? Not for me.

I was bored so I bumped the thread to keep it relevant. The more its near the top of active threads the better chance someone who can help you out sees it.

Exactly, like bumping threads gets them more relies overtime = you’re more likely to go an answer from anyone.

your question wasn't specific enough to answer. also you sound extremely sensitive. both factors that will cause people to avoid sharing spots with you

"Give me locations to ski in Alaska", "your question wasn't specific enough". BRUH, what?! It was not a question and it was very easy to answer??????? Newschoolers is full of retards, I love you dumb motherfuckers man fr????

You don't need to bump the thread, no one uses this shit anymore- it's pretty much the same people on every thread

Not Anchorage, that's where I live. I can look at the mountains and only see very small patches of un-skiable snow. My current spot is an hour out of town and it has maybe 2-3 weeks left on it and then I'm out of options. Thanks for trying to help though!
