Don't get me wrong, I do think we need to do something about the environment. But it is ridiculous that this man goes around lobbying and pleading for people to step up and do something about climate change, yet his personal life consumes a ridiculously excessive amount of energy.
 
Well Yasser Arafat received the Nobel prize for his "effort to create peace in the Middle East" in 1994...so that kind of shows how much that prize is worth.
 
did you know there are many people lobbying FOR POLLUTION, or should i say so that laws won't be put in place to curb pollution?

don't diss gore, cereally. he has been talking about global warming since the 80s, he isnt just doing this for attention or for money (he has enough money and he could get all the attention he wants if he decided to run for president)

gore genuinely cares about this issue, I know its hard to wrap your brain around this. see an inconvenient truth, you will see a man who has had his spirit broken. he was the morally responsible intelligent president who would have treated the american public with dignity and respect, and he lost to a president who doesn't even have the decency to even bother to do a good job lying to the american public he respects us so little. seriously people think bush is dumb and he is but most of the time he stated incorrect facts (or lies as I like to call them) and he had to know full well that analysts would prove him wrong/misleading on these things, but he just didn't care. if you run an ad saying (this is a simplification) "Al Gore molests children" and al gore runs an ad saying "thats a lie and I can prove it" it doesnt matter because the damage has been done.
 
Its awesome that al gore won the nobel peace prize, he earned it. Without him, we would still consuming without thinking of consequences on environment. Even if a lot of people try to crush his arguments, I think it would be a better world if Al Gore would win the elections.

He had his 16000000 or whatever square foot mansion completely converted to run off as little electricity as possible. For christ sakes, he has his own wind farm in his backyard from what I understand...

Look.. hes also got to keep up the "respectable person" image.. if he just went around looking like a bum, driving around in an electric van or something, he wouldnt get as much attention from the people hes REALLY trying to pursuade.. which are the large corporations, domestic and abroad, who have manufacturing processes that could pollute the air (I.E. Factories, Powerplants, Carmakers, Oil Refinarys, etc etc..)

 
Thank god he didn't win the presidential election, now he has time to focus on issues that are actually important. One of the most influential activists I've heard of in a long time.

I hope he doesn't actually run. "All" he has is a policy to lessen greenhouse gas emissions, I have no idea what he would do with Iraq, the economy and health care, which are also HUGE factors in the election.

Thanks to him, everyone seems to have to at least come up with some sort of answer to the global warming question, which is huge, but I don't see him being a viable option for president. He should stay with what he's doing now.
 
why is a politician talking talking about climate change? shouldn't a scientist be the one to talk about climate change? and remember the shot in his movie where he is flying on a commercial jet... thats bullshit and about image, he has his own private jet, which he flys around everywhere. and finally, what is the point of the random blurbs into his life?
 
Scientists are kinda busy doing science. Take it from me, thats what they do, talking to people and raising awareness isnt really their game. Besides, someone has to be a expert in an area to spread awareness? According to you, you have to be a world renowned oncologist or be diagnosed yourself with breast cancer in order to join in the walks and support a good cause?

Also, as I said before, what do you want him to do, paddle across the Atlantic to meet with European leaders? Having a jet doesnt make him a hypocrite, and in fact, he participates in a carbon offset program, where he plants trees every year that will use all the CO2 his jet produces. He's better than most, if not all of the people with his power and money on an ecological front.

And finally, I dont see how we suddenly got talking about a shitty movie. Beats me where you came from on that.
 
Just to clear things up about Al Gore's private jet, It is a 70's model jet that gets some of the worst fule efficeincy out of any plane in it's class. Well, it's your prerogative to dislike what he does, but it's a fallacious statement to say that because of it, what he has to say isn't worth hearing.

If a murderer told you that murder is bad, would you not listen to him, or would he not be right in that statement?

Hate the man, not what he has to say (even though i have a few bones to pick with that). It's a good thing that he's turned people on to the topic, most people wouldn't want to look at a UN, scientific or otherwise report. Watch a slideshow though, yeah.

Al Gore has a hidden agenda in all of this and it is to increase government control over the people. Yea the world might be warmer than it has been in the recent pass but he puts the blame on humans which is totaly not proven by science.

Except the facts he so completely exaggerated in his film are looked down up in the whole of scientific community. Even those that are pro-man made global warming hate him for fudging the facts. Also, he shouldn't have the Nobel PEACE Prize when all he did was perpetuate scare tactics with false information.
 
Al gore is a huge phony and i would be very disappointed in our citizens if he became president, that is all i have to say.
 
Gore is one of the biggest hypocrites to walk the Earth. According to the Nashville Electric Service, every year Al Gore uses 20 times as much electricity in his mansion than the American average household. He uses more electricity every month than most people use all year long.

Al Gore also flies only in a private jet that burns more fuel to get from NY to LA than the average hummer burns all year long. Also good old Al holds a massive number of stocks in Oxy Petroleum which isn't environmentally friendly in any way.

Personally every one of us are more environmental friendly than Al Gore, wheres our rewards and praises?
 
Even if global warming turns out ot be completely fake, we will still fuck the planet over beyond our means to fix it in a hundred other ways before too long. It's just been going on for so many generations that we can't tell the difference between progress and destruction of the natural world anymore. Earth wasn't meant to be conquered by humans.

Ya, alleskler,and he is also famous for his private flights. And from recent reports he still consumes twice as much energy in his home than the avarage american.

Also, England High court has made it manditory that if a school show his movie in class it must be accompanied by a fact sheet that points out the false claims that the movie makes.

OK expect for the fact that his movie had about 10 major inaccuracies when dealing with climate change and that is according to many many experts of both sides of the political fence. Not to mention all his ludacris and hairbrain ideas would do nothing on a worldwide level. Do you really think China is going to stop using coal burning plants?? Anyone speak up is that going to happen how about India?

His ideas would only serve to cripple the United States on every level!!

 
OO and sorry to answer the original question...Im sure he will try and run for president again I dont know if the 08 election is his best choice its a lil late for that and if he looses again he has no shot.

Now do I think he should run No absolutely not...The nobel peace prize is a joke Yaser Arafat, Kofi Anon? Lets be serious here and I think his ideas and polices are not only bull shit, but completely insane.

In all honest I dont like any of the candidates Rudi is a douche, Hillary well enough said and Obama will say whatever it takes to get himself elected. We need some fresh options.
 
It is cool that he is trying to make a change for the environment but he lives in a huge house that probably puts off more pollutants than like 10 regular houses and his concerts that he promoted produced trash and co2 emissions by people traveling to the events. They probably just contributed more to the problem.
