Al Dente vs. Line SFB

So after looking for weeks online i've narrowed it down between the Al dentes and the SFBs for some park/ all mountain, probably 50/50. I'm 5'10 and weigh about 140. Which is going to be better? I've heard the al dentes are super soft, but are they too soft to handle all mountain? I mostly ski midwest with the yearly trip out west.

Al dente is more of an all park ski and the sir Francis bacon is more of an all mountain ski. I have a pair of SFB for my yearly trip out west and I love them, never really used these for park, but they are so wide at 108 to use in the park. Neither of these skis are really for what you want out of them, and the al dentes are super soft so I don't think they would be very good for all mountain. A ski similar to the line blend, but stiffer would suit u well.

They are quite differnt skis. The al dente has a soft long noise rocker with a mid flex underfoot and in the tail. at 98mm they rip all mnt, they are fast edge to edge and can float in some pow. I loved carving on them and they still feel nice and plafull. Maybe a bit big for true park use, but as an all mnt ski they are great.

The sfb certainly feels bigger and heavier. The nose is stiffer on the sfb slightly but tail and underfoot are similar. It has a much more symetical feel then the al dente though so feels more like a tradional park ski. Because of this they dont carve quitre as well as the al dente, but being wider they are a little better in pow. In the park they are a little big, they weigh quite a bit and dont have a ton of pop.

Of the two the al dente may be your better all round choice, but if you are still looking at spending a fair bit of time in the park, maybe keep looking.

Both are amazing skis. I am also a midwest skiier. And looking for the same one ski quiver. The al dentes are way soft. Personally too soft if your trying to go hard and charge out west. But they work great in the park because they are not too wide underfoot. I own the SFB. Theyre fucking awesome. Slay in the pow, charge hard through the crud, and i like them in the park. I really have no opionon on them all mountain/ out west wise.

The only thing I would cosider between the two is that if you have a wider ski in the park it compromises edge control on rails. You just have to have a wider stance on rails, it feels weird at first. But i dont really mind it. My all around ski is the anthony b new life. 131 underfoot. And i ski in the midwest. Thats just me. I can surface swap and butter and press like a champ. But i cant spin onto rails with them like i can with a skinnier ski.

Go for what you think you would be more comfortable with. Progression in the park = al dente. Charging everywhere and teasing around in the park = SFB.

Alright sick thanks for the replies guys, i'm really just lookin for that one ski quiver, ill check out the blends too... So are the sfbs gonna be alright as long as i'm not doin tech stuff on rails?

Have a look at the on3p jmo, the whitedot preacher or director, salomon rocker 100 or 108, atomic ritual or blog maybe. Those are a few I would look at that may suit.

I love my bacons they are my favorite allmountain ski ever midfat gives you a ton of versatility and they have a surprising low swing weight with the thin tip design. Only thing is they are a bit soft (stiffer then the Al dente) but still not stiff by any means so if your are hitting cliffs in and around 25 30 feet mark you may want to look else where. Overall an amazing ski really does rip through almost anything.

As someone who has all 3, sounds like the Chronic or the Blend would be better picks for you than the SFB

yeah al dentes are a great all around ski. they work especially well in trees but are kind of meh in the park. I reccomend K2 Rictor for a good all around park/pow ski

SFBs are pretty damn flexy so they wouldn't be too hot on jumps and are wide so park in general would be a bit harder. ON3P jmos of line blends sound perfect for what you are looking for.
