Has anyone ridden these? I have an opportunity to pick up a pair tommarow and tommarow only for pretty damn cheap I'm tempted but I wanna know how they ski

Swallowtails - definitely! If not, maybe worth it. Don't let those Salomon's overpricing sucker you in to a whole new setup just cause you think you're getting a deal.

 
yeah, depends if you need skis or not. If you're not really in the market, I'm not sure it's such a good deal that you'd want to throw down 500 for stuff you don't really need. Never skied those skis, so can't say much about them, except you don't see too many people on 'em. the lab swallowtail - that's the ski to be looking for.

 
Took a look for 'em on the net - first webpage I went to (http://www.untracked.com/highlight-175217.html), $649 marked down from the outrageous list price of $1245! So your deal probably isn't that hot - pass unless you really need a new setup.

 
Yeah, they arn't swallow's and I don't really want them particularly (I ski 175's now and I wanted to step up to 185's but 195's seem like a leap) I couldnt find them that cheap on the net, but if they are listing 650 I guess 500 isnt that great. I'll prolly go down there with 400$ and see what the guy has to say

The one's I have are the old yellow one's 200cm.

They were my third pair for one purchase(good warrenty Salomon)and the first 2 pairs I skied both for most of the season and then sent them back because they were bent.I haven't skied them for 3 yrs.

I wouldn't pay 500.... but I think the ski's you're talking about have been changed since the model I have.

 
The 195s arent that big. The swallow tail is not part of the turning edge, so the skis actually ski like a 185, but when you take em in powder, you still have the extra length, and the swallow tail of course. They seem pretty sweet, and I have heard alot of good stuff, but it seems like you would just be tossing 500 bucks out the window to get skis you might not use.

 
I think most of the salomon free ride guys ski that ski like Chris Anthony, Chris Davenport, Kaj, who else...anyways, those guys are all chargers and the ski seems to work for them. I talked to Chris Anthony about them and he said he really likes them. Id say go for it man, and hopefully we'll get some pow at Alta soon that you will want to be riding something longer than those PR's in.

 
I pussed out, well actualy I went to the guy the next morning and made an offer for the two pairs he had, but he had sold one and wouldnt go any lower on his last pair, I offered 450$ he didnt bite so I said fuck it. Now I'm just looking for a pair of skis I actualy want, theres so many badass skis coming out next season it's hard for me to buy one now. Although if I find a cheap pair of 185 Pr's I'll prolly pick them up for a resort ski
