Airlines Tickets

It totally varies, depending on when you fly (time of year and day), and from where to where, and even how long of a duration. Sometimes there are killer limited deals, and sometimes there is just expensive shit.

I got tickets from seattle to london for about $200 cheaper than anything else i could find after days and days of searching on airtravels.net. Next day even their rates when up about $100/ticket.

But then needing a ticket from seattle to denver the best deal i found was using sidestep.com and tweaking my dates a bit.

Basically... there is not a single best place to buy tickets, especially regarding cost. If you're frugal, you're going to have to search your ass off.

 
it depends on many things like where you are going to and from, what airport you fly out of. If your airport is a hub for a certain airline then that is usually who has the cheapest tickets. otherwise you just have to hunt around. Check the major airlines websites for specials. You can save a little money on discount sites but they have long layovers and switch airlines alot, which will amount to a much larger chance of things getting fucked up, i.e. lost luggage ect. Personally I'd take a more expensive direct flight and pay more.
 
the first airline i would check is Delta, SLC is a hub for them, and i think they have like 170 flights a day into there...

one more tip is book now, if you can because if you wait until the last minute they jack the fairs way way up.
 
check out courier airlines, sometimes you can fly almost for free if you dont check any luggage. try www.aircourier.org or www.courier.org or www.iaatc.com
 
Check out www.kayak.com They compare prices from all the airlines that have flights going to where you want to go, compare with priceline.com, and sort it all out from low to high, nonstop to many stops. It's all I use and it works great.
