Airlines losing baggage

how many of you have lost baggage due to a fucking airline....i was on my way to the VT Open, fying to albany i connected in Toronto, went through customs, and that was the last time i saw my bags, containing 3 pairs of skis, my boots, all of my cltohing, and everything i need! now im stuck in albany and ive been here for 8 hours....share your stories

yea i got stuck in whistler with my twin sister last summer, at camp for 3 days with NO CLOTHES, they lost our skis and clothes, we had our boots, it SUCKED!! i made the airlines buy me some clothes though

they 'forgot' my skis between seattle and boise one time. took them a day to get them to me. still fuck them for not getting both my bags to the plane.

Taking your boots as carry-on is the first rule of travelling with ski gear. You can always find skis and bindings once you get there, but lose your boots and you're fucked.

you do NOT want to rent boots. You can always find decent skis to rent, but boots are a totally different story. Ive never gotten my stuff lost, but i always carry boots on. Probably because i always fly into salt lake if i go out west and they're real used to dealing with skis.

I've never lost my stuff from an airline but when I got back to Toronto from Whistler last sunday they were throwing my skis out the pick-up area. IT'S IN THE FRAGILE BAGGAGE DEPARTMENT!!! I was sooo pissed. My skis weren't damaged but they were throwing everyone's shit around and the Toronto airport is the slowest fucking place ever... sry about the rant

prolly like 120, me and bob white (linesnowblades) hit it once and the same time and went so big out blades fell off!!!!!!! We were like shit our blades just fell off, thats not supposed to happen!!!! What a day.
 
ive gone out west each year over reading week for the last three years in a row, and air canada looses my skis every time without fail, and its fucked because my dad is a 'super-elite aeroplan' member, and we have the special tags for our bags that basically mean "dont loose these bags" but it doesnt make a difference, at least this year we bitched at them enough that they paid for our rentals, all you have to do is just keep speaking to supervisors, and then thier supervisors etc... until you get to someone who actually cares about customer service. its shitty, but c'est la vie....

coming back from whistler they left my skis there cause there were too many fat asses on the plane...but they did deliver them to my door the next day. which was good.

Had a flight from Vancouver with a two hour stop over at Heathrow London before heading to Switzerland and they obviously didn't have time to get my bags on. It was actually good in the end coz I didn't have to haul my bags between the three changes of trains to the mountain and then the airline payed for ski hire of Pocket Rockets until the bags turned up a couple of days later.

they 'forgot' my clothes/contact lenses/boots in denver on my way to jackson hole, so I had to rent ski pants, boots and ski blind for a day, it blew since I didn't know my way around the mtn yet. man I wish they'd lost my boots though, those things suuuuuuuck!

Yeah man, my skis and poles got lost in JFK when I was on my way to a breast cancer comp in NY. I missed the competition and got my skis later that night. I was so angry, but at least they didn't lose my clothes.

 
When me and my family when to Big White,Air Canada lost our luggage. We had 2 pairs of skis,poles,gloves,pants.

We got our stuff back 26 hours later.

We made a claim to air canada because we had to rent.There were 4 freeking pages to fill out.
