Airforce vs airforce (Videos)

The RAF have no f 18s atall, thge american aircraft we use are-

E-3 sentry

Chinook

C 130 Hurculeas

C 17 globemasters

Beech 2000 king air

And the american aircraft for the french are-

Boieng KC 135

E-3 sentry

C 130 hurculeas

And i think you find alot of your technology was first invented by a different country, just majorly impoved by the US and used to good effect.

 
I'd have to give it to the French. Thats some extremely skilled flying. I think that the French and Brits have much better skilled pilots when it comes to just the flying, but the USAF has more technology so that makes up for the difference. You personally don't have to be the best in an aerial fight as long as you have the absolute best equipment.

And the French weren't operating any American equipment in that. To my knowledge, i think the only American aircraft they operate are c-130s, E-3s, and Kc-135 which are going to be replace by airbusses soon i think. Most of the fighters in that were Dassault Mirage 2000s, or Rafales
 
I am pretty sure the USAF has more kills then any of those, which I think makes it when because after all, having an Air Force is about kills and winning wars, not winning air shows and looking pretty.
 
Actually, youll probably find its the RAF, during world war two they did alot of bombing raides, the USAF didnt, and alot of civies were killed, probably got our kill count up alot.
 
Mind you i bet those atomic bombs in japan killed alot, and created alot of deformed babies that are still dieing now.
 
yah maybe up to and during the battle of britain, but after that the RAF was hosed. the US had to pick up a lot of the slack. we ran fighter support for nearly every bombing mission from that point on just because all of britain's pilots were dead, plus we had to go on all the daylight bomb runs.

not to mission all the ass we kicked in the pacific against the japanese, i.e. midway...

and if you're counting bombing missions, we smoke everybody...hell, we nuked two fucking cities.

so just on kills, id say the US has killed the most people...not that that's necessarily something to be proud of when it's innocent people, but it's fucking badass when we rock assholes that deserve it
 
Now, why do you have to bring shit up like that? He had a valid point, that the purpose of an air force is to kill people/take out targets, which is true, so you come back and say shit like that?! Honestly, i thought this could be a sensible thread about some beautiful flying in those videos by all three air forces, and you have to go and be anti-american for essentially no reason? And yes, i do know that the RAF did get more kills in WWII, but did you ever think that they were in it from pretty much the start, and had that whole "Battle of Britain"? thing that americans were involved with?
 
Hey, it was a fair point about kills and i didnt even bring the subject up, it wasnt only you who killed innocent people dont worry.

Everyone on NS is biased, therefore you will never get a true answer. So don't bother, it's a waste of time.
 
I was soley talking about the videos not the ariforce itself, then the thread got sidetracked, there awsome videos watch them, and decide on the best one, forget about whos airforce it is, just focas on the videos.

o i dont know if any of you are knowlageable on this subject, but my uncle ran the engine shop at whiteman AFB....(i belive the only AFB where B2s are based)

you know the B2s that were dropping bombs in iraq? those were planes that came from MI, ive had a back stage tour... it was AWESOME!
 
i know this is navy, but the blue angels are AWESOME! if you have never seen them in person, everyone should see them once in their life....

sure they can fly planes, but do they just do shows or are they combat ready or whatever? i dont doubt there skills i just would think it would be dope to hear about them out and about doing missions.

Haha the UAE has the 8th best aircraft in the world, shows what rich oil lords can do, and with that video it shows which aircraft design is most popular, almost half looked like copys of the Russin Flanker.
 
the blue angels do put on an amazing show, i've seen them, and the thunderbirds many times. (Gotta say the blue angels do a better show though) But I think the soloists are the best part cause the passes, though impressive, get kind of boring. Last summer i actually saw the blue angels, thunderbirds, and red arrows in one show in Quebec. I think the Red Arrows put on the overall, most entertaining show of them all but that might also be because it was new to me.
 
People forget about the Marine corps Air force, or whatever youd call it.

The marines pilots are the best of america, thats for sure..They have to goto pilot school, and also mechanic school. So when their plane breaks down, THEY can fix it themselves.
 
i have yet to see anything that says that they have to be mechanics as well, do you have a source? I wouldn't call marine pilots the best in the US, they definitely rank right up there in the world overall, but I'd say the Air Force has the best. (its kinda their thing) And marine aviation is mostly helicopters, they really only use 3 combat planes, only 1 of which is a true fighter. (F-18, AV-8B Harriers and the EA-6B prowler) And in just a few years, i believe all three are supposed to be replaced by the f-35. When it comes to fighters, i just don't think they have enough to be considered the best.

Now worries. Yeah I got to hang out with him sometimes and play around them when I was a kid. He also was in the first ever f 16 fighter squad. Hes got some really cool stories, once he had to fly down to the south pole and give supplies to scientists and what not.
 
actually i've been on one of the c-130s they use to send supplies down there, not flying but just been in it. I believe it was (or is) the New York National Guard that was doing the flights at the time. Being a pilot and flying a fighter is one of those things i would love to do, but unfortunately i'll probably never even get to ride in a fighter.
 
You can do anything if you put your mind to it and try, sounds cliche but its true. The marines can guarantee a pilot spot for you if you get in, and ever if you were a mechanic youd prolly get to fly in a trainer once, my dad was a mechanic/crew chief and got to fly in an f 16 and say it was the best experience of his life
 
thats gonna be me. headed to prolly either air force academy or naval academy next year then after that flight school then to flying f-22's :)
 
So what was his job? If he was in maintenance like it sounds like, he doesn't really have any experience at all to justify his assumption that Marines have the best pilots.
 
Oh I should have kept reading. So he DOES have flight experience. No idea what he flew down to the south pole though.
 
God damnit you keep contradicting me as I read through. He's maintenance like I guessed = he doesn't know how to fly a plane. I've ridden in an F-15 but I don't claim to know how to fly one (yet!).
 
and i'm sure they were saying the same thing sometime after the US Revolutionary war...and i don't really recall any instance during your lifetime, or mine, when the french have needed US assistance.
