Airbag jump?

Hey guys,

I am looking at booking an airbag at Kicking Horse in April. Just throwing it out here to see what type of interest there would be if there are any freestyle clubs that would be stoked to train on it.

Sessioning the Katal bag at Louise the last two years has been rad, but the line ups blow. What do you think?

Would be sick and I'm in!

The jump needs to be good though, if the jump sucks the air bag is no good. AkA most people that ride COP that I know aren't trying their first back flip, they want to get into double corks. With that in mind if you do go a head, I'm offering to come volunteer on jump construction.

yeee louise sunshine or cop would be better cause then they can make a legit jump to throw dubs onto and kicking horse is kinda farbut if theres a legit jump i think many people would be downput this thread in the calgary/banff regional thread listing

haha your funny none of the resorts out here know how to make decent jumps, with the exception to the 2 weeks that COP some how had the nicest shaped jumps ive ever ridden there, which is 2 weeks out of 4 years that Ive ridden there.

Actually the take-off of the jump at wrangle the chutes was shaped pretty awesomely, even though it had a sniper landing it was the really fun.

ya they dont have good jumps sunshines are small cops dont have lip and louises just suck but they all have more potential in making a better jump than kicking horse..

Ya norquay had a bag jump around christmas time, I think thats the best place to put a bag since they have already set up for it this year and their jumps are better then everywhere else

They were better, but they kind of ruined the second one imo, small poppy lip but it was like 55 feet to the knuckle. What are Sunshine's jumps like? I won't be able to hit them til about April but I'd still like to know

Sunshine jumps are small with no kick, if you want to hit the second you have to straight air the first, pretty much typical sunshine....

Wierd I normally wouldn't say COP's jumps don't have any lip (less you mean the small ones). Usually they are too kicky with an unconsistantly shaped lip. Lots of times they do what I call the wall, basically the first 3/4 of the take off transition is perfect to match your speed and size of the jump then the last 3-5 feet suddenly walls up on you for this stupid kick that you have to heavly compensate for. Not to mention because of this their landings become too flat for the jump.

That being said the 2 weeks after the Burton open the were shaped extremely well. A very consistantly cruved take-off that mached up very well with the landings. I hope they don't fuck them up after this week of that gay fis event.

And they all have more potential to build better but somehow all the resorts still suck at making jumps (I havent ridden Norquay yet Im holding out hope that they can make decent jumps)

What about louise's XLs? I didn't hit them the day I was there because it was mad pow and I only went through the park a few times, but they looked decent. And yeah Sunshine's smaller jumps usually aren't that good, but I liked their big set last year. I was expecting their park to be sick after it took them until February to open it, but every video I've seen it's looked like theres only a few features

ya last year the jumps were $$$$$ so much kick but i hear that the jumps were good after the burton comp cause someone else built them and then after the fis comp cop classiclly fucked up and shaved most the lip off ,,this is what i hear i haven't hit the jumps since January and they were good cause it was for a comp, and i tried dub off the middle one

Sunshine's park is a massive disappointment all round this year - no flow, fewer features, barely any larger rails. Opening as late as February might be excusable for a good build/design but not for a park where half the features seem to be flat boxes.

Wish they would have kept the Burton Open jumps they weren't even that big. And I'm stoked he did do that because I was hoping the Burton guys taught the COP guys something. The jumps were so money. I hit them today and they are still pretty good, 2nd could use a touch more angle on the lip and 3rd needs a 10 foot deck extension, but Im stoked they are good so iI don't want to complain.

And yea I think he's the only one those jumps were terrible last year.

BUT ENOUGH OF THE THREAD JACK, BRING THE ACRO BAG TO K HO ILL COME, AND I CAN BRING 5 OTHER PEOPLE THAT ARE DOWN!!!!!!!

Hey guys, glad to see some chatter about jump construction but back to the original point.

Because of the amount of interest the Acrobag will be at Kicking Horse on April 16th and 17th. I will be building the jump and I can assure you that it will be good. If doubles are your intention then come out because thats what I am building it for. I may live in Kicking Horse now but I sure as hell didn't cut my teeth there. There will be lip options for all tastes.

As a side note, the big jump for the Lake Lousie/Katal airbag last spring blew chunks. Believe me when I say I won't build a 45 foot cheese wedge.

Post in here if you plan on coming. The more hype, the more money I can spend.

See you there.

HYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPEHYPE!

Any cost or details like that?

sick! See you there.

Prices are yet to be determined. I believe I paid $40 for a day on the airbag at Louise. Depending on costs going in, I am definitely thinking a good chunk less than that.

i would be interested but maybe at a different hill because kicking horse is way too far away! i really wish lake louise owned one because there about 4 regular groups every weekend!

Fuck! Sorry guys. Because of some unforseen issues I am unable to get the airbag at Kicking Horse. Although it's not the same, there will be a rail jam just above the beer gardens on that same weekend.

Hype train crashed. :(
