AIM: VIRUS????

hey, who got the virus sent last night on aim? It was as if you were talking to someone like normal then it looked like they sent a message that said "do you mind if i put this photo of us on myspace" with a link that followed that read something along the lines of www.photobucket.com/fdjbn324jbdjn g or something. i kliked it and then it tried to open something then i hit cancel then i tried to open it again only to find my aim opeing all my buddy list contact that were online sending them the same message.

So, i am not sure what it is trying to do to my PC, i signed off aim right when that strted to happen and then shit down my pc. restarted it later and ran my pc-cillin virus protection. it found a few things but couldnt really delet them. Now, when i start up my computer, it has a message come up saying "RUNDLL" could not find the following file then some wierd characters.

did this happen to anyone else? and if it did do you know what it does and how to get rid of it?

help would be apreciated thank alot!
 
google the name of the virus, or some keywords like what was sent to you and aim virus etc. to find sites that will tell you how to delete it. next time don't be so stupid.

use your head buddy, go to google and Search somethin like AIM Virus removal...

or download AVG

 
i know, honestly im the dumbest person. i mean, it sorta seemed like somethng my friend would say. w/e, it happend so now i have to deal with it. i have deleted aim and ran my virus removal program and deleted a few things, but it happened again so now i am making new sn and reinstalling aim.

whatever, it was a lame sn from 5th grade haha. time 4 a new 1 anyways.
 
I clicked that once too, but my norton got rid of it. I felt really stupid after clicking it haha, good luck getting rid of it
 
ive got that i just ran ad aware and windows defender and it got rid of it

never ever cliked it again
 
hmm. i ran aim fix and it didnt find anything to remove but last nite the pc was goin all slow and showing half the screen my sis said?
 
it's actually been around ever since photobucket and myspace came into being. Yeh just don't click on stuff that u don't know about.

Also if you hold your mouse over the link it will show you the actual url. If you do that next time, just mouse over without clicking, it will show you the actual link.
 
I have a dell, running windows XP....but does anyone find that the newest version of AIM will freeze on them pretty frequently? like multiple times per session. Mine does that randomly, or everytime i open a new window.....anybody have that problem?

i need a mac for sure.
 
you can fix it you just have to delete the aim and redownload it...

if this doesnt work i recommend downloading the new aim

or reformat you whole computer
 
i deleted aim and downloaded it again. ran my virus protector and deleted some thigns but theres one i cant delete. ending with valera[1]. I also am gettin these random popups even with 2 pop up blockers on.

you say i should run spybot? and hjt? ill check into those.

this is so lame - i mean honestly, who has the pleasure in doing this to ppl... the creator of this has no life and is just a pain in the ass.
 
i clicked it and then about 10 minutes later my antivirus popped up and said i had a virus and it was contained and then it deleted it...didnt really do anythin to me
 
ok. so i have backed up all my files needed on a portable HDD. anyone know how to reformat the pc so it still has winows? but im just like starting over as if it was a new pc? help appresicated.

or reformat your computer that just deletes everything on your computer so its basically nothing and you restard downloading like windows and all your drivers and crap over but then you start clean with no viruses
 
oh yea i forgot about this thread i formated it and its set but some small problems like if i leave it for like the night come back on (withou shutting down or anything) a bunch of the icons are gone and only text is there. i dunno good for now i will prob format agian evntualy. and i run ad-aware tons now too.
 
yea macs are sick but my parents bought me and my sis this pc so im tryin to use it as best as i can. when college come - macbook time.
 
yea dude, if its a dell u can do like ctrl alt F something at startup. search the dell page but that reformats ur HDD and wipes all the crap. backup your files and do that im telln you. so worth it. good luck.
