somebody mentioned symbolism or something? the fact that the ridiculous and unnecessary flipping and falling of fries made a huge greasy brown mess is an ///allegory for skiing every time one of those jon olenick fucks lands a times seven point multiplier combo flip.

somebody mentioned how these flips already kind of exist in the form of aerials skiing. please connect the dots.

The fact is, Doubles and beyond flips are going to win comps and win money which is what its all about.

Just because you cant do them, doesnt mean they are gay. Are you mad because 180s dont win comps? HAHA
 
I agree spot on with everything the thread creator has said, and I am 22 and my parents don't pay anything of mine at all.

skiing is all about money and winning competitions. obviously for the aforementioned pros and many more unmentioned ones, it's as true as the oakley and salomon stickers plastered over every part of their lives.

those guys can combo flip this lame scene off their two hundred foot jumps (design specifications and FSA rules state that the latter shall be called a quad) and into a waterfall of fireworks and streamers if that's what gets them off. get paid.

however, saying that i don't like them because i don't have the guarana seed extract to do them is cool. fuck you. music critics don't have to be able to play the music they're criticizing.
 
Eh, there are very few doubles that I have seen, and liked. I've disliked them from the start. Look at a recent sequence photo of Ollson's. Complete lack of style. Sure he stomps it, but it's very blah and uninteresting visually.

Only doubles I might be okay with is a double backs and double fronts, and even then....

I remember watching Gap Session, by Blank Picture...snowboarders from all over were stoked for some doubles to be put down...and all types of snowboarders...not just comp dudes.

A double cork is sick...skiing and snowboarding.

Jon Olsson making up more and more and more double and triple rodeos...not so much.

It's better than spinning harder.
 
I really hate getting involved in these threads because I feel like I never make my points clear enough so, last post in here unless someone actually addresses me personally.

I think doubles, namely corks and fronts/backs can be cool used sparingly. I really don't want to see a double / triple flip combo-fest go off...it's just as bad a spin to win.
 
i agree, and sparingly is key. i think it is a cool new thing though. it's all a part of progression. let's just see what happens this year.

There are exceptions, but as a whole, I am not cool with doubles OR big spins.

I feel it is regression.
 
ya exactly. doubles are legit, I just hope they don't become something that happens constantly. and I dunno about anything past doubles, it'll get to the point where you have to spend a month at the water ramp working on one trick to get it solid enough to do on snow let alone grab it

oh hey bud fuck you did you land any doubles at water ramps with the ottawa freestyle team this year? i heard you and the whole ski bum productions krew were working hard. PLUS you got a few shots in so you can plaster them all over ns! GRATS
 
ya seriously I was considering doing triples on ramps this year just incase I ever got the perfect jump, but once I thought about it I realised it's just not what I want to do.
