People are boning these days about 'WHOA AND HE'S ONLY 13' yea and i'm 15, who cares?

It's obvious that as the sport progresses and as we get older, younger kids will look up to us and start newschooling too. Look at skateboarding, fucking 8 year olds boardsliding handrails. So it was going to happen, it wasn't going to be long before newschool spread to the little ones. But it doesn't matter if he is 13 or if he is 19 or if he is 33, he is still out there skiing his ass off, and just because he is 12 and pulling 5's, he is not better than a 17 yr old pulling 9's. Forget about age and remember style, and skill.

...i agree with you...but if everyone was held at the same bar there would be no women in our sport, and Kye Peterson would be just another kid because they arent even close to Tanner, Boyd, Steele, JP, JF, Vinnie...etc But since we do allow them into our sports as higher than everyone else, we should give props to women and little ones. For instance if you went to a park for the first time and saw a little kid (about 8) rippin and throwing 540s with no style, then you see a 17 year old throwing the same trick with no style...wouldnt you judge the older one more harshly even though they are doing the same tricks?

yes i would but that is beyond the point.

and women, that's a whole different perspective. Props to any woman who goes into the park and throws down.

if a 17 yr old is throwing down the same trick as an 8, i would view the 8 yr old as better, but that is the wrong way to view it.

I don't agree completely. Sure, being younger doesn't denote more skill. However, when you see a very young person throwing difficult tricks, Its apparent that they will develop into a kickass skier. They may not be throwing things cleanly right now but they have plenty of time to work on developing style.

i just got into it 2 years ago and i'm 17 the advantage 4 da young kids is that they c what kind if shit is being thrown these days if they love skiing they will get into park and so on soon

if i was their age i sure would

its too bad freeskiing and park ...and so on came so late

in conclusion these kids r lucky that skiing has progressed so much while they r young and not 17 or 33 but 8

yeah i agree, soem little kids are like im yonger than you and you can only do a blah blah blah but if they dont keep riding hard then theyre never gonna get good, age doesnt matter, just dedication

well I'm 17 and I compete and get killed by the likes of Liam Downey, who is also only 17. So its all about what you can do, not how old you are. There's people like Richie Paradise who is only 16 and is throwing switch 9's. It's just crazy

 
being younger is better...you aren't expected to preform as well...the older you get the better you are expected to be.

well I'd give props to an 8 year old who throws down, but I would also like to see that 8 year old follow me into the backcountry and ski at the same level. Park skiing is only one facet of skiing. if a person can't carve worth crap, but throws down tricks...I think he sucks because he can't even ski.

the little guys can go big if they arent scared (most arent). They are so light, they get lots of air. I was on this little table top, i mean small, i could barely do a 360 on it. This little kid comes and does a switch 540. May not seem like a lot, but for this little jump it was.

theres some realy young kids up whistler who are realy sick skiers, theres this one kid whos mabe 11 at the most who throws a nasty cork 7 and switch cork 7...

Its not about the age, its about how long you have been skiing. When your older its more difficult to learn new tricks.

 
nut size is only a small factor. If I was skiing when I was 8 I'd probably be a lot better.
