Afterbangs or anthems

i am a park skier and i need a new ski. i am thinking either getting 177 afterbangs or 178 anthems. i am primarily jumps but have been hitting alot of rails lately as well. for any of you who have the afterbangs and have had the anthems previously, whats the comparison on jumps?
 
the anthems are deff a better jump ski, they are wider under foot and have a much bigger platform to land on for jumps, plus ive heard only good reviews from people about the anthems when it comes to hitting jumps
 
I had the same dilemma, I went with the Afterbangs because they'll still be soft and buttery, but stiff enough for bigger jumps. While the Anthems do have that awesome wide waist, then tend to noodle out on some of the bigger jumps and may end up with you not landing some tricks you would have with a stiffer ski. Both are AWESOME skis, you wont be disappointed with either, Anthems are more butterable, while the ABangs have more pop and are a bit stiffer. Hope that helps.
 
i had same thing too went with anthems since they've been around for awhile and AB seemed a bit sketchy... talked to some guy sponsored by line and said he went through 3 pairs of ABs last year

and like ppl mentioned anthems are better for jumps but also like they said the butterzone causes you to slip out sometimes if you land too far back
 
well now my only question is durability on the afterbangs, i keep hearing how durable they are but also how they go through alot of pairs
 
wow, theres a switch.
Alpha 1 = Lighter, faster, softer - but the base needs more attention and isn't as durableAlpha 2 = SUPER durable, and a bit stiffer
when I say the bases need more attention, I mean they need to be waxed and scraped more often in order to keep them going fast, while the Alpha 2 can just use rub on wax and go, that's all. It is better to hot wax all skis, but some just can't use rub on. (Watch 4FRNT's Tech Talk on waxing and he'll tell you the difference).
My pick would be Alpha 2 just cause they're way more durable, and cheaper.
