once you stomp a trick you gotta to ride away with style.. lean back and and put your hands nehind your back.. make it look steezy. watch any of brogan (upbove), wallischs, or hornbecks edits and youll understand.
 
Is it just me or does the word afterbang not really fit its description

Afterbang has almost a negative connotation, like if i were to hear the word and not know what it was i would assume it is negative.

Like before i knew the actuall defitition i thought it ment when you finish your rotation after you land, like if i went to 450 out of a rail and i landed 360 and whipped the last 90 around sketchily after i landed, that would be afterbang.

but no, its probably just me
 
After you land a 360 you let your shoulders and head turn the way you spin but you have to do it steezy
 
360ing out of a rail would land you sideways. you would catch your edge. and shove your face right into the snow
 
He means like landing the 4 off sketch so its more like a 3 so you land sideways then 'revert'. but i've never thought thats what afterbang was haha.

its gay, its for people who cant stomp tricks normally so they have to do a fucking g-pose after everything to pretend they stomped it. its the definition of forced style. that being said i still think brogan is way steezy, im ok with him doing his afterbang shit, atleast it WAS original, nobody did it like him, but now everyone does it.

and is it just me or has skiing gotten extremely gay in the last like half year? along with this new afterbang/fake stomp fad, all these edits, ie the breck edits from the past month, have been the most wigger, fake badass, gayest thing ive seen. just this whole "look at me i do the whitest sport ever, but since i grew up in a rich ski town driving to the ski hill in my audi, me and my g-crew can act more gangster than the crips" attitude is so annoying, like you go through the park and anytime you see a kid taking part in this dumb fad, you get the worst vibe ever, like a "dont fuck with me cause i ski, i hate my parents cause they're white" attitude.
seriously you do the faggiest white kid sport you could possibly do, there is absolutely nothing gangster about it.

 
Rideaway= not moving after you hit the ground. stomped, no movement, done.

afterbang= not only do you stomp, but you immediately change your body position to an even more in control looking position, IE the Jon Brogan vid. It's gotta flow to look good, but it's not just rideaway, you put a bang on the end of your trick, kinda like an exclamation point, after you stomp it.

that's what it is in my mind anyways. seems to me like there's a difference.

I think Brogan has good style, but all this fucking "oh i land shit, so ill swing my arms around my back and act like i dont care and ride away looking THUG" is not cool at all!

or he would rather see people stomp relaxed, and not make a concious body movement after. It's what everyone used to do, it's just a different style. To each his own
 
It seems in order to achive true "afterbang" you must make your trick look way eisier than it is. Also you must not only stomp the shit out of it, but ride away super nonshulantly with you arms right by you side, with your shoulders slightly offset, and of course you gotta lean wit it.
 
i feel like people that dont 'get' afterbang or rideaway or whatever or think its wack, probably just dont smoke enough. gotta get that weed steez.

you're right, skiings not a thug sport. but we do get high. just look what weed did to hip-hop, went from mc hammer to biggie and pac.

i dont think the kids dressing thugged out on the hill put out a "dont fuck with me attitude", you must be shy or something cuz i ride at pretty mainstream not close knit local hill and still EVERYONE for the most part is really approachable and down for a good time. thugged out kids and hesh kids rip together all the time, its just individual style please get over it. if its not your style than of course you cant comprehend it! thats why you just gotta leave it to.... "to each his own"

1st off not everybody who skis fits your "rich white kid" description. And secondly kids can act and dress how ever they please. Honestly you might think "ghetto" "wigger" kids are fags, but your an even bigger douchbag to hate on the way people dress/ act. And finally where the hell have you been the past ten years? Kids have had this style since Royality!
 
i dont really mind the clothing so much, its not my style, but im still cool with it, but its more the attitude that seems to have started in the last year or so, like not just cool skiing to rap music, but a rap video full of white kids with attitude with a little bit of skiing on the side. so yeah im not gonna hate on how people dress, cause its cool as long as they have a good attitude, but when people act ghetto as shit then it just gets gay.
