Afterbang vs Anthems

I have begun saving up to purchase a new park ski and have been looking at both the afterbang and the anthem. I want some super soft buttery skis that i can jib and learn creative tricks on. Let me know what you guys think. Plus k for pros and cons and helpful feedback. Thanks

Extruded base-shit... i have step ups same dimensions just longer. The ski feels way to skinny i would love to have a pair of anthems instead of abangs/step ups.

i just got a pair of afterbangs for the park and theyre alrite.
i cant say that i like them as they're completely different from my old trouble makers.
they seem to suction to the snow more and they feel a little heavier in the air when spinning.
they are the 7ply wood design so im pretty sure it has something to do with that
the only bad thing is i heard they dont last long if you ski aggressively.

Oh gee, another 10/10 Anthem review from some kid in NH who thinks he has 50 foot jumps. They float in pow and are stable on cliffs too aren't they?
Sorry for being a gigantic asshole, but this is fucking stupid.

Sorry dude, I'm not trying to mislead ppl, for the amount of snow we get they do, do ok in the pow. Also, our biggest jump is 45-50 feet, not a 45-50 ft gap...

anthemsi know a couple people who have them and ive heard the bases are real slow after like a weeks use, not do to wax, just quality of the base. anthems are just hands down more durable

afterbangssome of my friends have them and say that they are the best park skis theyve had. havnt heard any reviews about the anthems

ahhh my anthems are two pieces of shit. dry bases, slow, they de-lam like CRAZY. yeah they're super buttery and flexy. that is nice. but not for big jumps. edge popped out. but dnt fucking get afterbangs eeither. get rid of line

I'm considering buying a pair of Anthems myself, they've been said to be everything the abang is and everything that's wrong with the abang is right with the Anthem. Fruitiest graphics ever though hahaha, I say Anthems.

some of my friends have afterbangs and they say they really love them. but, they can delmainate easily, and scratch really easily

i have a pair of 2010 afterbangs and i haveto say that they are not worth buying. at first they are a great ski but once you break them in they are just too buttery. yes they are a fun, flexy ski that are great for jibbing and buttering but thats about it. they do terrible in all mountain but they are great for rails and boxes. i find they are heavy and you really notice that while spinning. i would definately go for the anthems.

Your review sucks.

False information.

Anthems are soft skis meant for rails mostly. You can hit decent sized jumps on them. Hitting a 50ft jump on Anthems, you will wash out. Happened to me on a 45ft jump. These skis are meant for park, and park only. The will preform terribly in tight trees and pow. If your edges are rounded and there are icy groomers, skiing will suck. Hit a patch of ice and you aren't gonna have any effective edge what so ever. Also, you bought your skis way too short. You should of bought the 178, or at least the 171's.

Don't blame the skis if you can't land properly. I've hit 50 feet jumps on my Elizabeths (they are way softer than Anthems) and I've been just fine. You will not wash out if you don't land way backseat.

Yes, washing out on softer skis is easier than on stiffer skis. Still, saying "you will wash out" is just plain wrong. You won't wash out if you don't land really backseat.

Thanks for all the input guys, I decided to go with the Anthems. Last question, is there any structural difference between the '10 Anthems and the '09 Octoland Anthems other that the price?

Get chronic cryptos. Better sidewalk construction. Faster , longer wax holding, more durable sintered bases, and although they say they're stiff, they're only a tad stiffer than the anthems.you'll thank yourself for the bit of extra stability but still having tons of buttery playfulness. You won't regret it.

i'm pretty sure the anthems construction didn't change the entire time it was in production (RIP)... someone can correct me if i'm wrong though, i've only ridden the wolves, ep spirals, and kiss editions

i wouldnt get lines just because they`re not built well, try getting some 4frnts or look for other companies than line... maybe some that are built in the us and not china

i rode anthems the last 2 and a half years. they are a great ski for the most part... until you ride them super hard and they start to get ever softer and more flexible. once they get to that super soft point they arent even worth riding, especially if youre hitting larger jumps, you get thrown backseat and the skis tend to slide out from under you. but as far as a jib/rail rail ski they pretty damn good, lots of pop.

I would get them, but they wont last you very long if you ride them extremely hard

I dont think there is any diference in the 09 0r 10 Anthems. but if i where going to get one i would get the octoland ones because those are sick!
