Afterbang, AR7 or Alpha1?

I need a ski for medium jumps, has to be lightwighted, and easy to spin with. Also I've just started to do rails and want more of that! But the mainthing is the weight and how they do on medium jumps.
Can you help me?
Jesper, Hemsedal.

this is true, but i do it because liberty makes very legit products. the lte's have a medium flex that is perfect for medium jumps, and yet has a soft flex in the tips to make them super playful. liberty has found the legit configuration for durable skis. mine take so much abuse on boxes and rails and the edges are pristine. The bamboo core makes them super light, responsive, and poppy as fuck. the lightness of them is just fucking awesome they have great swing weight. they are just the best for the park. the only downer is that they have no longer size, but the antigen for next year with 184 length and rocker/camber/rocker is looking SHWEEEET. if my skis were a woman i would fuck em

I would check out the Nordica Ace of Spades. Light weight with a true twin shape. Excellent pop off of jumps and has a larger sweet spot for landing. Also the edges seem to hold up alot better then, say the afterbangs. Over all and sweet ski for either park use or all mountain.

Liberty makes some of the best shit out there right now. I suggest their products to my friends whenever someone asks me what ski to get unless they are an oddly build person.

Just saying.. Why would you even put Afterbangs against AR7's or Alphas... A-Bangs no offence to anyone who has them suck massive dick.. As for skis I would say Ace of Spades, On3p J-Mos, Rossignol S4 W/ Jib Tip.

ar7s for sure i have them and love them they are pretty much exactly what your looking for with the cap construction in the tip and tail it make the swing weight great so easy to do 360s off super small jumps, they also hold up really nicely on big jumps and are super durable for rails

It sounds like you are still starting out. Don't get a rockered park ski. You have to learn proper pop first. Cross Afterbangs off that list. They are heavy.

Ski suggestions:

Moment Reno Jibs

Moment Eldorado

Armada Ar7

Armada T-Hall

Liberty LTE

ON3P J-Mo

Nordica Ace of Spades (Hit or miss kinda)

Rossi S4

Ninthward HHP's

weight has nothing to do with skis at all. So get that out of your head.

Only the swing weight on a ski matters.

A ski for medium jumps that would still be nice and playful would be:

Thalls

Blue steels

Halos

I have the abangs i wouldnt really recommend them. THey hae the slowest bases in the world, which can get extremely frustrating.

As for durability i would give them a 6/10 not bad for the price range, but you still want a ski that will get you through the whole season. Plus they get water logged fairly quickly.

IMO you cant go wrong with the AR7, it will allow you to progress to bigger stuff and is playful and great on rails.

Actually I've got the a-bangs stuck in my head for a day or two now, and almost bought them today, after looking over all reviews and Line's travelling circus - it seems like such a fun ski to ride, and you can still (for me) go pretty big, without the biggest problems.
Everyone recommends the AR7, but I'm afraid it will be too stiff for me, and take the fun of riding everywhere in park and play with the butters.
I ride stepup 177 now, and do flips, 360 and somewhere 540's of medium sized kickers, and whenever I spin I seem to have a problem stomping it - maybe I just need more training, but I don't now.
I'm 182 cm tall - which length should I get?
And thank you for all the good and helpfull answers!

actually the ar7s are super flexible and are easy to do butters on.but if your set on the a-bangs then go for it but ive heard the bases are very slow.

The abang is softer than the stepup. So if your having problems sticking the landings on the stepup i would say that the 181 ar7s would be a good choice. Or 176 if you like a shorter ski.

Everyone I know with the abangs, as well as myself, hate them. They are really stiff and heavy. But if you need a really durable ski they will offer you that much.

I am probably a little light (150lbs on 166 abangs), but I've also had other people ride them and other people who actually own them. Stiff and heavy for all of them.

yeah haha well at least from what ive heard there is a lot of better skis out there so i would say they are a waste of money

Alright then - I think the AR7 - no rocker, high flex pattern though, but people say it softer than that - holds up on big jump - still playfull and buttery.
Can't go wrong with that then?
Length? - 171 or 181? I'm 182.

Seriously?

Im 155lbs rode the 177 and could butter like there was no tomorrow.

And the weight really isn't a big issue if not not and issue at all.

Afterbangs are a good ski for their price. Jibby and durable.

Completely serious. They aren't buttery for me at all.
And weight can be an issue for some people when spinning on rails and whatnot.
But I honestly am not going to e-fight over this. I'm just stating my thoughts about them.

Now i am just in shock.

Stiffer than reno jibs?

Your sure these where like legit afterbangs? Thats fucking wierd.

hahaha yea I guess so. Real abangs. My friend who competes a lot more than I do felt the same way with his and ended up getting something else.

Look into Atomic Punx. Light as FUCK. I personally like TNKs but they're stiff as hell, so out of the 3 skis you're lookin at I would say the Alpha1. It's a really do it all kinda shape. the swing weight is nice and light too

hey man, i'm going to have to respectfully disagree with your statement that abangs are stiff - they are perhaps the flexiest ski on the market, and that's a fact.

If you think the AR7's are a bit too stiff for you, look into the T-Halls, essentially the same ski, but with a little bit softer tips and tails for butters. I rode them all season and they are a super fun, durable ski. And I would get the 181s.

I think he means reno rockers but anyways\

ive tried skiing Freeskiierocco's ski before and they are really like planks of wood with no flex at all its terrible, and I am much bigger than him.

OK - I've now ordered a new pair of skies.I went with the Apha1 182 + Marker Griffon.
Quick summary:AR7 will be too stiff for what I am doing
Halos wasn't possible for me to get.Moment - nowhere in europe!
Alpha1 has rocker, light spinweight, racebase, softer than AR7 and awesome graphics!Current park skis binding is at 8, så griffon 12 will be more than enough.
I'm hoping not to be dissed - I just think they are right for me :)
