So today I just got my copy of after dark in the mail.My friends and i plan on watch it. We did. The thing we didn't like about the movie

1. did really flow to well

2. most of the song where insturmental.( kinda hard to listen after awhile)

3. kinda got a little boring

I know all of you guys are going to hate on me and stuff because level 1 is the best. So NS what are your thoughts. I thought eyetrip was better.

i havn't seen it yet

You're thirteen, and must not truly understand a good ski movie yet.

Now I haven't seen it, but from what I've heard...

-It's a themed movie, meaning it should flow very well, and everyone else is telling me quite the contrary of what you're saying.

-Instrumentals are amazing, I am glad there is an absence of the shitty rap music that seems to plague the younger side of the ski industry today.

-Level 1 being boring can't even fit in the same sentence together. Level 1 always produces some of the best movies out there. Hell, I've watched Refresh over 100 times on my iPod, and it never gets boring.

Overall, I am really excited to see this movie, and have the same expectations as I always have had for their movies.

PS- Eye Trip, in my opinion, wasn't that great of a movie either.

I agree with a lot of these things and I myself haven't seen After Dark but when you yourself haven't actually seen the movie yet you can't say it's good and I though Eye Trip was an amazing movie I watch it over and over again on my ipod.

first off you havent even seen the movie yet, so dont say that it is good from what you have heard. second not all rap is shitty. third off have you heard the instrumentals in the movie, no you havent so stfu and gtfo.

I have seen After Dark.I am 19 if you really need to bring age into it but that isn't the point. The music wasnt my problem with After Dark but just didn't like how the movie flowed. The editing they did was dope but the theme just kind of bugged me. I couldn't get past that, plus the movie at the premier skipped as soon as it got to JF's part and that just blew the entire movie for me aside of any other flaws I noticed.

I believe there were three instrumental songs. And one of them was about :45 seconds.
1) Park Shoot2) Russia3) B-Dog
so......

didn't flow very well? bullshit. the editing and consistent theme/story was great to see. IF3 best editing was well deserved.

most of the songs were slow, not instrumentals. holy shit they didn't use slew of heavy beats, rap, and reggae tracks. I know music is kind of personal to your own taste but I thoroughly enjoyed the entire soundtrack.

opening was sick, closer was banger, tons of surprises throughout. the only reason you were bored was probably your dislike of the soundtrack.

i love how there are all these threads appearing about peoples opinions on the lastest ski movies and alot of people who have said they were disappionted with the flow or the sound track or whatever are getting shut down by other members who must think they are proffesional film critics or something, to anyone critiszing kids for not liking a movie for some reason - fuck off its their opinion and therefore cannot be wrong, offer ur own opinion instead, theirs not being the same as yours doesnt make them 10 years old

/end rant

The movie was garbage compared to Level 1's past titles. If you want to argue that the movie wasn't bad and had a chill flow, then be my guest. But if you compare this movie to like Realtime or Eye Trip it was fucking horrible, not the Level 1 quality I expect.

Horrible soundtrack, and okay skiing not even close to excellent.

Hate away.

i really dont understand this. for me after dark is honestly one of the best ski movies i have ever seen. maybe the newschoolers crowd isnt quite ready for a movie like this. songs were awesome riding was amazing and the editing was fantastic.

I love how sensitive the typical newschoolers fan boy gets about their level one movies. The op simply made a thread discussing how he didn’t like the movie, if it was a pbp or matchstick no big deal, but since its level one he just cursed out the skiing world. It’s his opinion, not yours. Level one movies are not the greatest, hell the only reason I buy them is to see Tom that’s it.

You guys are such flamers.

It definitely didn't live up to the hype. I can't really put my finger on it since I only watched it once but there was something about it.

I'm a huge Level 1 fan but I'll admit that there were a ton of movies I liked more than After Dark.

1. you didn't like that it flowed well?

2. although music is important, the movie is focused on skiing, which you should pay more attention to than the lyrics of a song playing

3. sorry, it's not a 3 minute edit. ski movies are longer, which makes them waaaay better. if you don't like that, then you should probably get off ns

scrolled straight down to avoid spoilers:

HAS ANYONE IN ONTARIO GOT THEIRS?

..yeah ima be that guy

If its anything better than eyetrip (which it is from what many other ppl have said) than it most like is an ILL movie. i cant stop watching eyetrip

this movie doesnt compare to refersh, no questions asked. but then again, i wasnt expecting it to be because refresh was possibly the best ski movie ive ever seen. but anyways, about after dark.

i liked parker whites segment, but the song i didnt think was a good one for the opening segment. also, there was like one true rap song, which is usually level 1 is usually good with. and also, i didnt really think they were hitting great urban for the most part. there was only one rail that i thought was sick in the whole movie

are you kidding me? refresh was one of the best movies made, by far level 1s best.

Its pretty hard to top refresh and eye trip was still good and i liked after dark too, but like i said its hard to follow up refresh.

I had the same impression the first time viewing the movie but after watching it 2 more times i started to like it a lot more I think its better than Eye Trip but definitely not at Refresh's level. The highlights of it were definitely P White, Logan/Bellarme, Compton,Imlach, Wesson and Ahmets parts. I also thought the soundtrack was sick, there was an awesome range of music and stuff you don't usually hear in ski movies like the Kinks and Yeasayer

Personally i liked the movie i mean the urban was ridiculous, The park shoots were some very creative ones. Also the fact that they lost quite a few of their best athletes I think the movie was pretty sick. But what would you exactly say how the movie didn't "flow". Neither does the poor boys movie it goes straight from Leigh's segment right to A solely powder and big MTN segment? Also instrumental music sometimes is needed in a ski movie to let you really focus on the trick being thrown or the lines being skied.

seriously man.... dont judge when u havent watched it....

i to found that it lacked some thing. i mean all ski movies are good but it just didnt come to par with other movies that have bean released this year..

plus every one has their oppnion...

Dude it doesn't matter how old you are to have an opinion about ski movies... THE MOST BANGER SKI MOVIE I EVER SAW WAS WHEN I WAS 9 YEARS OLD (it's The Game)

Turbo. My favorite ski movie of all time. On the other hand, After dark was definitely boring and predicting just like eye trip. By not I feel like Level 1 is just a name and that is why so many people create such a big hype. I have been to around 1 to 2 premieres a week and some of my favorites include set your sights, weight, and capita defenders of awesomeness. Didn't think Art of flight was that great either. Obviously the filming is amazing but judging it as a snowboard movie, there was too much down time. There's my opinion.

fairly agreeable. i saw it 2 days ago and most of the urban skiing was pretty mind blowing, but thats kinda it for me. i thought eye trip, refresh, and turbo were a lot better

I thought the soundtrack was pretty damn good, aside from that one cover, Allman Bros. I think? (I think the band had some sort of in with L1 and almost seemed like they were done a favor). The Electric Prunes? PERFECT. Not to mention, it fit the theme. "Too much to dream last night" for the Japan Pow segment where there was "Too much snow last night and today" was genius as it fit the dream theme. Subtle things like that really impress me and show what sort of thought went in. Dead End Street, The Mos/Mad/Slick track, the jump seg instrumental, JF's, the Yeasayer for the goofy, fun, unique skiers...I loved the variety and the way the songs fit their segments. I guess AD loves reggae? I dunno...AD's segs are always hurt by the song choices imo, just can't stand that new school reggae ish at all.

I personally didn't like the way it was put together. It was kind of all over the place. Good skiing is good skiing, and I appreciate that. It was a bit too ADD.

It was almost like a snowboard movie, or it had the feel of a snowboard movie, had some shots, but the flow and music made them go overlooked

i wouldnt be surprised if u were right judging on how level 1s movies have been the last couple years. they have a ton of talented riders, but its like watching the same 2 or 3 riders the whole time, their style is all the same. and the flow/editing has gone downhill too.

they had a couple years starting with shanghai 6 where they were absolutely killing it. but they also had much better riders, or atleast a better variety.

Delormes part was good, but not mind blowing like previous parts. the highlight was the triple back, but it didnt have the same vibe as his eye trip part.

Sometimes its good to challenge what everyone thinks a "great" ski movie is. I like seeing some diversity in the way a movie is put together.

I just want to know where the fuck my copy is. What, you pay more for blu-ray, so you can get it later than everyone else?
