ugh!!!! you people have NO idea what your talking about! dont listen to anyone who said its good wax, blah blah blah. here is whats really up:
new skis are shipped with a thin layer of parafin wax. its there strictly to kep the bases from drying out. parafin is the base material to ski wax (you can get it at the grocery store), but it lacks any of the chemicals and additives that reduce static and such. so basicly, its the worst wax you could use. also, any decent race tech will tell you the very first coats of wax are the most important. many racers will wax a new ski as many as 20 times to build a solid base of wax that penetrates deep into the pores of the base. while thats way to excessive for a freeride ski, you should absolutely have your skis hot waxed, (with an iron, not the wax wheels), it makes a huge difference in preformance, both immediate and long term. and when your bases start getting pale, that means they are cryied out. its time to re wax. that gets expensive (only takes about 3 days of skiing to peel most of your wax out) so my suggestion, is to get a cheap iron, some wax (get a big ass block of it) , a scraper, and a couple scotch brite pads, and for the price of one or two shop wax jobs, you'll be good for as couple seasons.
