It pisses me off that black people are called african-american. We just try so hard to not be racist that it ends up being racist. I dont hear people calling me Irish-Austrian-American. They are black. I am white. Why do people complicate it

um. they are african-american because thats theyre ethnicity. Black is the color of their skin. There are hispanics who are black and are not called african-american. They are hispanic but they are still black.

its more respectful to call someone by their ethnicity rather than there color.

i think the first post makes alot of sense. african people's relitives come for a shittload of differnet countried or black people, rather... white people come from a shittload of different places. if you say african-american for black people, you have to say european-american for white people.
