Afghanistan update numba 1!

we should do an ns donation and make like a fucking carebox with ns shit, and what not to send this man.

good luckbro, i just recently applied to go overseas on the next roto to afghanistan, and i'm canadian.

from your picture, it looks like you are in the 4th ID.

my mom was deployed to iraq with the 4th ID as part of the units FFST (fast forward surgical team)

good luck to you out there dude, come home safe.

haha that'd do it.

"soldier kills bin laden. when asks what he'll do now, says he'll go skiing"

but that is a sick update. nice to hear some actual story and reports. There's not really nearly a many news reports as there used to be.

Agreed. What would we put in such a box? Maybe we could get PBP, Level 1, etc to throw in DVDs?

The CIA reported there are a maximum of 50-100 alquida in Afghanistan. Have fun over there bud lol. Your a puppet of the military industrial complex. I really hope you come back though +K

Man defiantly some eye opening stuff, as cheesy as it sounds i'll be praying for you man, hope your staying safe out there.

and i would defiantly try and help out with a ski care box that would be so legit!

What the fuck is an alquida? You would assume after almost 10 years of war you would at least know how to spell Al-Qaeda.

Honestly, you should be ashamed of yourself, "Have fun being a puppet of the mili. industrial complex." Why the fuck is that necessary? Everyone is painfully aware of how people like you view the military's role in the world.

What are you accomplishing by heckling someone who has committed his life, time and potentially mental stability for you regardless of how ungrateful you are. Typical sour-puss liberal, couldn't just ignore this non-political war update? Your statistics and spelling are make you seem uninformed and your disapproval and lack of respect is completely unwarranted in this thread.

And just to make sure I have this right. You claim there are only 50-100 non-Taliban combatants present in the AF-PAK theater, ahahhahahaha

Rob Furlong, Canadian sniper, farthest confirmed kill clocking in at 2430 meters. People say we have the best snipers in the world.

Have you heard of the JTF2? does your team/unit work alongside or seen any members ahah? i don't know, the whole idea of jtf2 is pretty badass and really secretive. and in each squad is there a certain task assigned to the soldier, example you're trained as a medic. Do you have a marksman in you're squad?

have you seen one of these yet? :)

Wow, good to see a post from you again. Saw your going away thread, sig'd it actually. Keep up the good work out there man, stay safe.

One of my roommates just got back from Iraq/Afghanistan a couple months ago. He said in one part he was amazing by the amount of opium grown. He said there was a field literally stretching from horizon to horizon.

weird dude, i hope i make it back too. and while you seem so informed could you get with my chain of command and tell them there are only 50-100 dudes here, and we can go home? i hate be puppet-ed around. sucks. while your at it...a pay raise would be swell and maybe rather then 20 dudes in a tent when we take rockets and mortars some concret buildings to sleep in? thanks. knew you were well connected.

ps an ns care box would be amazing. and i would sticker shit all the time if i had some.

if you list some things that should be in it, and how to go about getting it to you, i'm sure some of us would chip in for some stuff. what kind of things, like dip and candy and gum and penthouse and shit?

i dont dip or smoke. but slingshot, candy, a good book or two, jessepi the ns shark, ski magazines, pictures, new music, playboys for the reading obviously, mouse traps the old school cheap kind, if you for some odd reason had stickers or ski movies that werent being watched, stuff like that would be pimp.

it takes about 14-25 days for a mail to show up. and the post office hooks it up for shipping to afghanistan. ns can be sick sometimes.

I might be sending you a package sometime just gotta make sure postal office in canada willl ship there.

havent heard of jtf2. havent worked with any sof groups either. but my platoon is known for that stuff. as for the barret. yeah we have 2 barrets in my platoon. we have 6 snipers in my platoon. and two snipers with my skar team. (small kills and recon). they usually carry an m-14 for a quick engagement weapon and a SAS.

our best sniper was asked to make a set up for a record shot. he is making a special set up for the ma-duece. says the floating barrel gives a more accurate shot.

just so you know, so you don't annoy people, he doesn't hold that record anymore.

and astomp, have you watched restrepo? find any soviet era relics around?

reflections on the dichotomy of the landscape and war? i understand that when the bullets aren't flying its a beautiful place.

do you see any western civilians there who aren't doing any work, but simply there for adventure?

ever see any western adventure tourists there? mainly in the north right? most of the fighting happens in the south/south east?

winter is coming so taliban activity should be slowing down right? im guessing summer is when they come out to play.

annoy people? that's what you come up with you piece of poopie?

where's the facts. link me to this, you're trolling me. i do not believe you.

oh god.I cant imagine packing a lip in that heat.

with all the gear you guys have I would imagine its really easy to pass out from dehydration there

absolutely. That would be one of jessepi's finest moments, to go hang out with some soldiers in a warzone.

its too bad he's probably sitting in a box in some idiot's basement.

Otherwise I think it would be cool to send a universal NS package. Throw a shirt or 2 in there along with the stuff he's requested. Would be a good gesture

Hey guys, I'm sending him a care package as soon as I get an item back from a screenrpinter later this week. If you're in the US and dont want to have to hassle with the shipping, send it to me and I'll toss it into the box. You heard the man, whatever you want.

My address is

Going to try and send out stuff at the end of every month.

And keep it up out there man, I wanna hear a full trip report and all once you're back.

alright, well i guess if there are any canadians interested in this lemme know, and you can send me what you're up to send, because i'll head up to the post office within the next few weeks, (just currently got to get the time to go up and buy some of the stuff to send.) so if you're not up too dealing with shipping hassles, i'll deal with it for you. pm me if your up to it. but may not respond because currently on a course with the Canadian Forces, and it's not leaving with much freetime.

ive wanted to see something like this for a long time. respect man. ill be checking back to this for sure. one question, if you were to be put back in the position where you applied for the military with the experiences you already have, would you do it over again? respect man, and good luck.

fuck yeah! this is the craziest adventure ive ever been on yet. while i will say im not a career guy for the military. who gets to say "yeah i went to a place nicknamed death valley, carried a rifle and fought to stay alive"

made amazing friends who i love dearly. but not the same as my best friends back home. when you'd take a bullet for someone its just different. i miss the ski parties, getting blacked out, pow skiing, chasing tail, and doing what ever i wanted. but this is worth giving it up for, for a little bit. builds character thats for sure. its just wild.

no lie if I saw a guy who was clearly planting an IED I would shoot him. the rules of engagement are one of the messed up parts of this "war" because they are completely one sided

I have a friend who was out at restrepo and he has put up some crazy pictures

keep safe

I know a guy that was in the army as an engineer for 25 years and he said it was 100% worth it and in the 25 years he was there he loved all but 2 years of it and not many people can say that about there carrier. Makes you really think about joining up.

Wow this is awesome.

What Platoon are you in? My cousin is in the Marines in Afghanistan.

Private Wilds he drives a LAV
