Advice on a good jacket anyone?

Hey I really need some thoughts on jackets as this year it is time for me to retire my old north face coat. I've been looking into some Orage, Helly Hansen, maybe Rotor, or Marmot. Any insight? What are good jackets from these companies, there arent really any shops around here for me to try them on so i just needed some ideas on the better quality jackets by some of these companies. Also, anyone know when Meadows is going to open and if they will have any tables soon?

Helly Hansen Cortex, Marmot Liquid Steel, Mountain Hardwear Ethereal, Arc'Teryx Beta or Theta AR, all 5 are really good jackets

Special Blend has a sick line out this year. Go to fourstardist.com and check out all the companies under four star distribution. Special Blend's stuff is hella cool. I know that it was originally made for snowboarders, we got our steez from them anyways.

i gotta stand behind bonfire, theyre snowboarding but they make killer jackets. had mine for two years, still water proof and warm and mines only a gold series. I really wish i liked orage's jackets this year just because i like what they are and who they support but i just can't force myself to like their style

bonfire jackets rule, hella comfy and tech w/ style, sorta pricey unless on sale, but you better be buying on sale anyways

You should get a shell and then some layers for underneath (fleece etc.) that way you get more versatility with weather variation.

Whatever you do, go for something with at least double taped seams, arm vents, hood, powder skirt and possibly some reinforcement on impact areas

I love gymnastics and trampolines but nothing beats a 'Gymnastic Tramp' for fun

ya ridedna.com or orage

Orage is sick. I have an Orage jacket and it is super phat. There pants are pretty sweet too.

'only 2 good things come to Michigan State (and Michigan in general).

1. Tons of hot women

2. Plenty of good boomers, and beasters.

Bonfire are wicked. just bought the new XLT series, its fucking awesome.

Its got staps inside it so you can hang it round you waist when you hike.

Awesome.

yah what that baker dude said up there. Helly Hanson Outlets sell this jacket, I forget what it's called but the material is made of Helly Tech which is just a flashy word for 3 ply gore-tex that breathes like a mother fucker keeps out the wind and after a year of wearing almost every day it stil doesn't leek a drop. Plus it sells for around $200 Cnd.

go cheap my man, get a hoody and a really water proof rain jacket. and do belly slides.

If your attack is going well, then it's an ambush..

oakley hotplate - hella warm and kept me dry through three hours of skiing in the rain at killy

all of these jackets will work for cold weather, but what you really need is something that will keep you dry but versatile enough to use when its warm out... hence you need a wetsuit. o'neal and jet pilot make good ones. hope it helps
