Advice: MSLM vs. Blue Mtn

Hey guys, I'm moving from Calgary to Toronto for work at the beginning of January and I'd like some advice on where I should buy a pass. From what I've seen Blue and MSLM are the most solid overall mountains for park. It also looks like MSLM is about 1.5 hours from downtown Toronto (where I'll be living), while Blue is approximately 2 hours away. I just want to know which of the two parks is better, whether Blue is worth the extra drive if its better, and if there are any other mountains I should consider. Thanks boyz and girls.

I would go with MSLM personally, better park, less crowded.

Blue is also living a little bit in the past and still runs a double chair for the park while mslm has either a high speed quad or a quad for their parks.

But that double chair is the best thing about blue.

-Blue has better terrain (still nothing compared to banff)

-MSLM has a better park and it is closer but the outback (their big park) isn't open at night if that matters to you.

On a side note- if you have one of those weekend jobs I'd be down to carpool to mslm mid-week.

Yaaa, not looking for terrain as much as park. I'm looking to get more into the park game again since I'm moving out there so Moonstone sounds like a good bet. Unfortunately I'll be working a good ol' 9-5, so I can't carpool during the week.

I love the old double chair, it is an old icon but on busier days it takes long

Slodenote reply- I'll be there potentially on some fridays this year, probably leaving from toronto, depends where about you live in the city?

I'm just going to ring in here. Anyone want to carpool to blue or MSLM. I work mainly on the weekends but will have some weekdays off and I'd love to go skiing. I promise to not talk about politics. xoxo SJW out

Whats your work schedule like over christmas break? i'm sure i'll be at mslm a few times throughout the break

I've got a few days off here and there but for the most part I'm working full time. But just message me when you're going skiing and if I don't have work I can chip in petrol money as well as North Face discount for both MSLM and North Face itself :)

I mostly have Thursdays free but can easily swap to Wednesdays depending on which day is better condition wise.

Yeah true. Like I said to Draper if you're down to carpool I'll happily put in gas money. As well I get discounted lift tickets for MSLM and discount at TNF :) Just message me when you're going to MSLM and I'll see if I can come.

i thought i'd chime in and add that blue consistently has a longer season than louis, sometimes by up to a month. The management there will keep the lifts turning and a small hike park up way later in the season.

I know people also said blue has better terrain and you're not too bothered, however i'd add that louis' terrain is super boring when you do decide to take groomers, blue is actually mildly interesting. In addition, if you make friends who don't ride park, blue is usually the default for people doing a day or weekend trip, whereas louis isn't on the radar as much

i'm a huge fan of louis don't get me wrong, i've ridden there way more times than i've ridden at blue, but I also appreciate that NS tends to have a huge bias towards louis because of how good their park is, but blue is a much more well rounded resort with what is still a great park
