So im a sophmore at uconn and im tired of connecticut. it seriously is the worst. I want to transfer somewhere out west where im reallly close to amazing skiing. help me out, CT sucks.

I say do the Winter at Westminster program. If you like it you can stay or go to the U, if you dont you arent locked in for good. After a semester you can go back. Thats what I am doing and I amdefinately staying

i know a lot of people that come for winter at westminster never leave... but if your already sure you wanna move out here, the u of u is a good school.. has a lot of students (but most commute) and then you have westmini which is expensive as fuck but small as hell.. both equidistant from the resorts..

I'm at COCC in Bend, OR. Not a huge school, but it's really nice here. Only about 30 minutes from Mt. Bachelor, where we get screwed over hard on pass prices, consistent parks, and pathetic management that doesn't open pow lifts on pow days. But if you're lookin for something close to home as far as drive distance, this place is awesome. Big year this year too.

for the people who say winter at westminster.. what about for those of us who cant afford that.. or for those of whose parents are only willing to pay for school because they think you are going for school and not skiing.  anyways.. im in soph year and looking to transfer too.. so your prolly looking for a four year university.. Oregon SU cascades is in bend and 30 min from bachelor, or there is WWU ewhich is in bellingham close to baker, or CU boulder... those are the ones ive been checking out

salt lake city schools (u of U / westminster) are by far the closest to the mountains and the options are amazing. PC, Caynons, Deer Valley, Brighton, Solitude, Alta, Snowbird within a half hour. Snowbasin and powder within an hour.

and the u of u is about 7 gs a year for out of state and like 2 for instate... and if you dont go to school at all for the first 2 years you get out hear you can start school on instate... otherwize if you go to school, it takes you 3 years to gain instate residency... i convinced my parents to send me out here for school (when my real mission was to ski) and i ended up "taking a break" about 2 years ago and have been just skiing and working since... im planning on going back next fall on in state tuition..

U of U is actually about $16,000 out of state and $4000 in state. It also only takes one year to get residency.

yeah if your looking into utah, the U of U is the legit option, westminster is a lot more expensive and is really small which some people like but i would hate it my highschool had more kids the westminster. Also id say 8 out of 10 kids at westminster are complete tools where as the ratio at the U is a mere 4 to 10

Western Washington University. It's in Bellingham WA, only a stone's throw from Mt. Baker and some of the sickest pow days you'll ever have.

sorry... must have been thinking per semester... but i know im right about the residency thing... def takes 60 creds, 2 years if you havent gone to any school in utah and 3 years if you have.. at least thats what it is for residency at the u of u
