Advice for Gainering off a bridge?

Hi guys. This weekend I'm proably going to go to a local bridge/dam to jump. It is only like 10-12 feet at the moment, but I think I could gainer off it. There is a little runup. Like a step or two. I can gainer on tramp and backflip off the bridge. I have tried doing a running gainer thing where I turn and flip kind of sideways. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks

When you flip sideways its mostly from a lack of commitment. Send it straight and true. No need to spin.

I have never been a fan of ganiers. Id much rather cork

1. Make sure there's water to land in

But really they aren't that hard. If you do a standing one make sure to push out far enough. Also you don't need to spin too fast, especially at that height. I think gainering off one foot on a tramp can be almost weirder because one footed shit with the bounce feels a little awkward.

I would go straight back, it's not bad. If running I would usually still give it a pretty good jump up and out and kind of stutter by look back/layout. Not sure if the best way, and maybe I was just scared of clipping the edge. Just send one. Especially if you know the feel of flipping off it already. Make sure to commit to get it proper, but don't need to really huck it or you might overrotate a bit.

Update

I went out to the dam and it was a little lower than expected. I did a backflip and front 180 before trying a gainer. I tried kind of flipping sideways and up and was doing something. I didn't have to much time there, but here is a video of the closet I got to a gainer. I'm hoping to go back again to try it again and properly do it.

Thanks for the messages. I never tried one running, but hopefully someday. I live near tahoe so the flow is pretty high and can't jump in the river for a while. I'll hopefully be back in like a week or so and send it properly and straight forward.
