Advice for a homemade ski

So I'm building a ski for a school project and this might be a dumb question but are binding inserts really necessary? I forgot to order them but im not sure if I even need them.

Inserts are not needed. Make sure you use a nice hardwood in that area and a random mesh binding mat in that area. Like this:http://www.fibreglast.com/category/Fiberglass_Mat

You dont need to run this full length. Just in the mounting area.

Good luck with the build.

take this post with a grain of salt, this is coming from someone who has Moment skis as their pictue

actually moments are nice but I consider them disposable

Do you know anything about moment at all??

I'm guessing you mean a binding mat...? In which case yes, if helps with binding retention, they're pretty worthwhile.
