Advertisements on site flash based?

Are they? I am pretty sure they are right. Well, I don't know what the issue is, but they are causing my browser to consistenly crash every few minutes. I haven't ever had this issue before in the 8 years I have been on Newschoolers. Very annoying. Do I need a new plug-in or something? Somebody help!

An update thing pop ups when I try to load a new page, and then it crashes and asks if I want to send an error report or not. Thanks.

Bump! A mod response would be really swell. Also, why is it so damn hard to click into the reply box now?

on this page now, there are 2 flash ads out of 3....

no clue if there what is making your browser crash

Sorry Ryno, it is Internet Explorer, not sure on the exact version. Also I don't have problems with other sites.

basically, when pages are trying to load sometimes I will get a popup box that looks like it is trying to redirect me to a flash update page. When I click continue, it crashes and gives me that 'send error report" dialogue box. Upon selecting either option, any open IE windows will close out and I have to re-enter my passwords, redo my homework, whatever else I lost by IE crashing.

Also I think I have decided that the reason it is so difficult to click into the data entry boxes on NS (like this one) is, once again, because of the ads. I figured out that I can't start typing until all 3 or 4 of the ads on the page load up completely. Annoying to have to wait for ads to load...

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling your browser? A file within it might have gotten corrupted...

I've found that it is harder to click into the Reply box, as well. But I don't really mind, it only takes a couple of seconds.

Whoa weird... Some of the ads are flash based, but certainly not all of them. You can usually tell which ones are because the flash ads have a smoother animation than the .gif ones.

Definitely sounds like some weird browser issue... I've been using chrome a lot of the time, and my flash crashes in random places... both on NS and on other sites.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I uninstalled chrome because tabs would freeze up and it would lock up the whole browser (which is what they advertise it SHOULDN'T do).

FF FTW

This is one of those phantom issues! It hasn't been a problem for me for a while so maybe the issue resolved itself when my computer ran updates?
