advantage and disadvantage of center mounting?

what are the differences if you get yout ski's bindings center mounted? does it do anything special for you that a binding mounted closer to the back of your ski can't? out of all of my buds only one of them has their bindings center mounted and it doesn't look like it does anything special for him...i was just wonderin this becuz if there are some advantages to center mounts i was thinking of doing this to my next pair of twins...thanx

an advantage is its easier to ride switch, and its not a problem for me but maybe harder to ride in powder because you are farther forward, i like them center mounted though

riding switch will be easier, and you will find spinning a bit easier too, but you will lose some performance when you take them up on the mountain/hill/whatever you got. they will have a bit more tail so turns will be weirder.

'If you ever catch on fire, try to avoid looking in a mirror, because I bet that will really throw you into a panic'
 
do any pros have their skis center mounted?

Disadvantage: fucks up the sidecut (ruins it period). Disadvantage: Won't float as well in powder. Disadvantage: puts the binding in a spot where the ski is not designed to hold it...possible to brea the ski. Disadvantage: No warrenty (most likely). The one advantage: you can grind and ride better switch....hmmmmm....I think you should keep them mounted in their normal spot.
