Adult website banners on top?

Ive noticed since the upgrade, there have been a few inappropriate batters at the top. Ones for adult websites, and "Watch college girls now!", adds like that. I think those arent the best banners to have, especially when there are younger kids on here.

Why don't I ever see these awesome banners people talk about on here. They are all skiing or newschoolers related on my browser. But I agree that adult website banner are innapropriate for a skiing website.

Yeah, I haven't seen any.

And I thought they were privately bought out ads. However, since the new flash ads, it may be a different case.

Not sure if this is true right now on NS, but if they are using google adds up top, the adds are sometimes determined by the searches you do on google.

So if you were searching recently for lots of porn or naked college girls on google, and they are infact google ads up there, it could be the reason the are seeing adds for naked college girls on NS.

So it may infact because of you, not NS.

hahahahahah yessss.

that makes sense, that most google ads work on the searches you do.

i think this has come up in a forum here before, and most people realized that yeh, the ads that come up are similar to the searches they do, or specific to the area they live in.

Hahhaha.... I think thats hilarious! It must be the google ads, there's a few tags running in the top banner spot.

I think you've got to stop searching for so much porn!

;)

bahhahah wow super owned. I don't have any google adds either... but i use google all the time. weird.

Nah, that cant be it. Im at school right now, and ive seen one within 15 minutes on NS. Most of them were for salomon, but there was one.

Like, I dont understand it. Ive seen 3 of them within the past 3 days. One today, and one every other day, and they were and are always in the NSG forum. I have no clue whats going on, im just letting others know.

i just saw a google/yahoo add for car insurance....earlier this morning there was an add for sierra mist???

maybe. My bro just bought a lap top for school. Once he gets his router hooked up, ill get on that and see

I thought google used what was on the page to determine what ads to show. So a thread about porn could very well have some adult ads and a thread about cars could have one about car insurance.

haha its so funny that this thread has had over 260 views..just because it had 'adult banners' in the title..

All i ever get are blue mountain ads.... i live in toronto and created the blue mountain bike thread so that could be it?

i only ever see the same ad. which is:

"ride all season for only $164+gst! dont miss out its the best deal on snow!

blue mountain."

Let's see if the Google Ads pick up the context of my post!

you guys are incorrect, it has nothing to do with your google searches. AdSense analyzed the content of the website its displaying on. From google itself:

"When your content changes, so do your ads.Google AdSense technology goes beyond simple keyword or category matching. We work hard to understand your content and deliver ads that are relevant to specific pages, automatically, no matter how many thousands of pages your site may have, or how specialized or broad your content. As your content changes, Google's ads change to match. And since our ads are also targeted by country, global businesses can display local advertising with no additional effort."

so instead of the kid searching for porn on google...

It just means that he was viewing porn websites very close to when he was using NS?

no, it means that some content on NS triggered it. probably some stuff in NSG or Ladies Men cult or something.
