thanks

any help will be appreciated

About 10% or less of my current PS knowledge came from school. There are books for each specific version that can be helpful. Before you waste anymore time online and here check out the help section on your browser bar. There should be a bunch of topics to get you started.

Once your familiar with the icons and terminology, play around with different images and get the hang of it.

when I got it I just started playing around a ton with it. Just take random photos of hot chicks or whatever and do stuff. You'll quickly learn the different tools, then try tutorials on doing broader things, then take a few more specific tutorial. The main thing is just play around with it a lot to truly understand everything you can do with it. there's still tons I don't know.

It is a good idea to at least start off with some basic tutorials, otherwise photoshop can be a little overwhelming ... if you are in school there is probably a teacher that could hook you up with a tutorial or a book for free if the is no class on photoshop itself. I got lucky my school had a class just for photoshop and some other programs. good luck.

Basically, just get a general knowledge of the tools. There are limitless tutorials online. I guess if you had an idea of what you want to edit it would be easier, so I suggest you find a picture and screw around with all the tools for a while. Also, download some brush packs and make some abstract pictures. Fool around with everything, and after a while you should get the hang of it.

i literally just played around a ton till i was able to use tools that you find in paint. then i read some tutorials on pixel2life, and it helped me learn more about each tool the more i used it. now i'm a lot better at it. if you ever use it in school, do your project/work real quick and just screw around. i did that on my project and my teacher loved me. i was better then her at PS and i had only had it for a year or so

ya my school doesnt have a class like that, so im pretty much on my own. but it gets easier the more you use it

another thing you could do is go to a bookstore and pick up/subscribe to a photoshop magazine. generally, they have tutorials with free templates, pictures, brushes, etc to help get you started.
