Adobe kills Creative Sweet

This won't cut down on piracy+ I hope this isn't implying you need Internet to use photoshop.

Glad I snagged CS6...They're trying to get us all online at all times as a means of tracking our activity...

What they want with broke-ass ski bums, I do not know...

#1 “I don’t want to run my Applications in a web browser!”

When people hear “cloud” they get visions of running applications in a web browser. While that may be the case with other cloud offerings, it’s not the case with Creative Cloud. Creative Cloud members download and install their Apps as Adobe customers always have. The Apps like Photoshop , Illustrator, InDesign and even the new app Muse runs from your Hard Drive, not from the cloud.

woops

#2 ” I don’t want to have to be connected to the internet just to use Photoshop.”

Once we get past the fact that you download the Apps and install them on your hard drive, people still sometimes think that they need to be connected to the internet to actually run the Apps because they are Creative Cloud Apps. Again, this is not true. Your Apps not only install on your hard drive, but they also can very much run offline. You computer does have to connect to the internet once a month to verify that your membership is still current, but that’s it. Once that check has happened you can disconnect and run all of your Creative Cloud apps OFF-line.

Update as of 5/6/2013:[/b] You will need to be online when you install and license your software. If you have an annual membership, you’ll be asked to connect to the web to validate your software licenses every 30 days. However, you’ll be able to use products for 180 days even if you’re offline.

Yeah basically with the offline mode, people will make cracked .dll's for windows and Terminal cracks for mac's that make 'Creative Cloud' not check with adobe ever. So basically nothing has changed, just crackers gotta get crackin'

This is terrible even from a professional paying standpoint because no matter how much you pay into the system, you never actually own the software. You basically lease it forever (in theory) and end up paying more and more and more and more for the tools you used to one-and-done deal with. There is no "brand loyalty" or "dedication" reward because your long term customers don't catch a break; in fact they end up paying a stupid amount of money for something they have to use because it's a standard for many.

idk man i just signed up for the full creative suite under a student discount for $20 a month. $480 for two years until they upgrade again is better than buying the entire creative suite then having to pay for the upgrade.

evryones going to cancel and move over to a different software in all actuality unless adobe is introducing something new

Assuming this is the same product model as Steam, I think this is a good move. Cut piracy by giving customers positive incentive to pay rather than penalties for not paying. To those bitching about the idea of not being able to pirate: grow up.

I love it. If I edit even one day each month it pays for itself 4 or more times over. I own CS6, but this really isn't that bad of a thing. If you can't spare $50-$60 a month get a job. If your a student it's what $20? Suck it up and buy less beer and weed.

I pay $30/month for premiere and crack everything else. Ill keep getting upgrades for premiere and I will be fine using cs6 of everything else for at least 5 years.

Have they actually made any updates on the software yet? you would think that you could just hold off until they make a really big update and then sign up for it

Open cl has been around for at least a year. Either way, nvidia cards will still be better.

Only on macs. And amd cards are far superior (7970 blows 680 out of the water for $100+ less)... Though their cpus are definitely getting behind intel

There's gonna be a way to steal it dont worry about that.

But actually, i think its a super smart move on there part. For someone who is on the fence on buying its way easier to get everything for 30 bucks right now then 2000 for the whole suite. Impulse buys!

If you buy the program, eventually after a while youd have to buy the upgrade anyway. and as someone who makes there living off of these programs its literally a couple hours of work a month and youve paid off your tools and stay updated, get typekit and a bunch of other services.

If your a working creative and your not able to cover a cloud subscription. change industries.
