Adjusting to longer skis.

Recently got the K2 marksman 106 underfoot 177cm and my previous ski was a blizzard Brahma 164 and 88 underfoot. I could still carve well but once the snow got a bit choppy I felt like a beginner again. Any tips of adjusting or how long ti will take?

Wider skis are harder to get on edge at low speed. Go faster and just ski them. Should feel normal after a day.

Prob just getting used to wider skis, longer skis, different shape, longer turn radius. 177 isn't long by any means, but moving up from 164 which is short af prob will feel a little weird. Give it a few days.

thanks, man. Can't believe I ignored that. I was trenching turns going fast just fine I'll keep that in mind

yeah my guess is that the new skis are just a bit harder to turn at slow speeds. just let yourself get used to them and you'll have them under control in no time, you'll learn to drive the tips so that you can turn even at slower speeds

I went from 157 to 170 and I didn’t feel much of a difference besides weight

Lol that's a night and day difference dude. You probably were just riding skis way too small for you and that's why you don't notice anything. Even then, I'm sure there's a noticeable difference.

Yeah I was on some 157 Line Tigersnakes last season and then I went to 170 Arv 86’s. Like the armadas a lot more already though

Maybe, maybe not.... 170cm in the ARV or most twins is still super short considering the effective edge. Prob super easy to pivot even with horrible form.
