Adjusting Pivots for New Boots

Hi all. Recently upgraded boots, going from some older Tom Wallisch pros to some Dalbello Il Moros. BSL was one mm more on the il moros so figured it wouldn’t be an issue to adjust, but I have loosened the pivot heel piece from the end of the first grooved ring to the end of the third grooved ring and the boots still won’t fit (both are size 28.5 if that helps). Has anyone else had this issue / do I need to remount? Thanks in advance.

I did yah (I probably have them about 8 full rotations before they started to be able to get in) but I guess what I’m saying more so is, how far back would be too far back. After letting It sit with the break arm dial unscrewed it looks like there is some grease leaking

You shouldn't have to adjust from the 1st to 3rd ring if the soles are only 1mm different. You should barely need to do any adjustments, if at all. Something isn't making sense if you're adjusting that much, 1st to 3rd ring is probably 10mm. Both DIN soles with DIN afds?

Yeah I’m surprised OP had to adjust my new shells went from 295 to 294 and it’s just the same I didn’t need to do any turns

The BSL stamped on the heel may or may not have any relation to the actual length of the boot. Double check that shit.

Most likely answer, if it was truly 1mil difference as listed on the heels you would never need to back that far off
