Adderall

So I was prescribed Adderall 20 XR for my ADHD. It's been about a week, and I'm just depressed as fuck for no reason. My thought process is so negative no matter what I do. Have any of you guys felt this way?

Selling it is absolutely out of the question. My parents pay for it as we don't have health insurance, thats just really scum. Not to mention I do need something to help me with school.

Honestly dude there are so many natural cures for ADD and ADHD, Addys just fck with you. Ask your parents of you can try some alternative medicine.

They can't find any way to not pay out of pocket for it? I can see using it during school, but I wouldn't otherwise if it makes you feel like shit.

fuck that shit and the people who prescribe it. any normal fucking guy in school could be told he has ADHD because he cant sit still for 1.5 hours and for some crazy reason he doesnt pay attention to some d-bag rambing about nothing. if you are male, and somehow can pay attention during school and not get restless during 1.5 hour classes, THEN you are fucked up.

I swear its all the women teachers and mostly feminine school system, they expect boys to behave like girls and of course its only natural to be the complete opposite, so they think somethings wrong and they need help.

its the shitty school system failing to teach effectively, not boys having this make believe disorder.

sorry for the rant but this shit drives me crazy.

I literally just cannot focus. I try, and try, but it just never works. and no im not fapping to her profile to clarify lol.

On the contrary, the medication can actually be life changing for those who truly need it. Like me for example, I withdrew from all of my classes for my first three semesters and was close to dropping out all together until my doctor recommended I take it. Now my performance in school is night and day compared to what it used to be. I now not only make it through the whole semester, but make it through while obtaining good grades.
Not saying that it works for everyone, but you'd be surprised how much it helps for those of us who truly need it.
Lastly, you're rant is warranted IMO because there are a lot of people who abuse the drug more often than not. And just like with everything else, it can become bad for you when you take too much.

OP you are honestly a pussy.

20xr….

I got depression from it after fucking 9 years of 50mg IR a day, everyday.

I was overprescribed, and took it starting in elementary school. You are not 'depressed'. It is called you are chilled and don't know what to do with yourself. That's what being on it is like. It is weird at first but you have to make the decision yourself to start being progressive on it, and then you'll stop feeling shitty about yourself.

blurghh

And I got depression when I became addicted and would take upwards of 180+mg a day mixing any sort of uppers. (dextro, ritalin, adderall, patches, etc)

Who the fuck are you to judge someones mental/physical state. Than again, I look at your name, and realize your nothing more than a idiot.

Holly shit. 180mg a day damn. That's fucked. My friend who is an absolute idiot thought it would be fun to take 120mg with no tolerance what so ever 30 minutes before school started. Another one of my friends ran into the kid in the restroom, his armpits and back were drenched in sweat and he was wiping his face with paper towels to clear the sweat and he was tweakin.

OP if you feel depressed stop taking that shit and only take it when you need it. Sell it to kids that want it. I know a kid who has been prescribed adderall since he was 10 years old so he gets prescribed large dosages. He usually takes half of what he gets and sells the other half to kids who want it to study or what ever.

i would say to keep trying them. i have a friend who used to get terrible grades and has adhd. once they tried medication, they felt shitty for about a month, but then stuff turned around. got way better grades and felt a lot better afterwards

yeah not saying that EVERYONE doesnt need it, but id honestly say that like 95% of the kids on it shouldnt be. not being able to pay attention in school, being restless, disrupting, etc.. is so insanely normal that its more abnormal if you CAN sit through class and be perfect. It makes sense for the people that have a huge attention problem.

I was told like every fucking year until i graduated that i needed it, i had two male teachers who didnt say anything, but thats it. i just dont know where anybody got the idea in the first place that people, especially kids, should be able to sit still all day, listening to lectures and glued to textbooks. its so against human nature.

you may need it to get through school, but its most likely the school system failing to be able to teach effectively to NORMAL people, so they label you as abnormal. its the guys with "ADD/ADHD" thh guys who cant sit around like little girls all day, who end up doing amazing things with their life, because they are constantly thinking, constantly striving to do things, get shit done, etc.. and it sucks that our school system tries so hard to kill that natural drive that so many people have.

You could get some medical herb. Kids with OCD, ADD, and ADHD have been prescribed cannabis.

I actually notice a difference when I am stoned in class. If I am moderately medicated I am really into doing my work and learning and don't get as board and space out. Sounds weird but that's what happens to me. I am also really quick at mental math when I am stoned not sure why.

depression is a common side effect. Follow up with your doctor, he or she may adjust the dose or the medication

jesus fuck what do you mean no reason?.......even lots of pediatricians want suicide warnings on those

maybe stop poisoning yourself, make sure you get lots of vitamins+minerals from whole foods and eliminate gluten+refined sugar from your diet, even try homeopathic remedies

and tell your parents you are disappointed in them for being naive and lazy

What it difficult to get a diagnosis? I wanna get some just for exa, jams before exams.

Lemmme know

Nope you're retarded.
It's not a black and white distinction between ADD and non-ADD. People have it with varying severity. Some need treatment, others don't.
That being said, there are some people who really don't need treatment who just take pills for the fuck of it.

Just an FYI your depression and lack of motivation stems from an issue you have with your life. Taking a pill may mask the problem and make you feel better in the short term but isn't going to do anything to fix your problem.

You need to figure out why you are depressed and take the steps to make that problem in your life better. Pills can help give you the confidence to start taking these steps.

I take the same dose as OP and have been for a long time (6th grade or so, and I'm 18 now). I have never had problems with depression, and I generally don't feel any different on my meds other than the fact that I can do my school work. If you are depressed, go to your doctor, nuff said. Don't fuck with depression.

To anyone saying that ADD is bullshit, I used to sit at my desk trying to do 15 math problems in middle school when I forgot to take my meds and it would take me 2 hours to finish. I wouldn't get side tracked and do other things, I would just sit there and stare at the sheet of paper trying to do the math, but there would be too many things flying through my head to even do simple multiplication. Adderal fixed that without any side effects yet. There are tons of people that are misdiagnosed, but for some the medicine actually does us good.

That shit took a good 7 years of my life away. I finally stopped taking it halfway through freshman year in highschool and learned to buckle down and just deal with it. Its not as hard as it seems, you just need to figure out what works for you. If you feel that you cant do that or arent ready to, try taking a different medication. I originally was on ritalin I think, and it caused me to get super depressed. I just didnt want to try anything socially, and like you said, had a negative outlook on everything around me. When I switched over it got rid of that side effect.

hey wow ya think!?

im not saying you have it or you dont, im saying its extremely overprescribed and a huge majority of the people who are told they have ADD, really dont.

All the psychoactive/depression/neurological drugs are over prescribed. I agree that they work when prescribed correctly but lately I think that doctors and psychiatrist are just throwing them at people. I went through a bit of depression and they put me on them and I didn't take them. I worked through my problem, picked up a few new hobbies, talked it out and I am better for it now. I am not someone who thinks this way a lot but I think there are serious long term side effects of drugs like these. I know so many friends and family member that are on this stuff and the mood changes and effects like you are talking about aren't good.

very easy. i did this freshman year of college. Its the only way i got through my major.

Jsut research the symptoms, and say that you were smart enough to get by in high school, but college is a whole new ballgame.

My doctor also tends to give me any drug i ask for...literally anything.

I take dexedrine or adderall sometimes. Lowest dose they will give an adult usually, sometimes I take two. It really is a miracle drug for people with ADD. People think that we are just lazy or unmotivated but that is not true. I don't take it to get homework done, I take it so I don't zone out in class. It's a night and day difference. Without it all I do is copy notes, with it, I follow the lecture and actually learn.

It's also really bad for your body. I can tell. Kids who crush it up and rail it are crazy.

You're wrong. A lot of people say they have it because it's an easy excuse, but have never been actually diagnosed by a psychiatrist.

OP I feel you. I also have ADHD and have been prescribed Adderall but I fucking hated the side effects and refuse to take it. Luckily when I used to take it all the time in high school I went from failing school to straight A's. It dawned on me that I was actually smart, and stopped taking the medicine and just tried harder at school and kept the results from high into the 4th year into college. Given it is always cool to sometimes take it and realize how much faster and more efficient it is to learn, but I was able to work around it, and I think you could too.

I am pretty sure you have to be diagnosed by a psychiatrist to be prescribed it right? Like family doctors can't just give it to you can they? I know I went through a shit load of tests at like 12 years old at a psychiatrist before being diagnosed.

I went in told my family doc that i fit some of the symptoms, told him i had tried a couple from my friend and that they work great!

I got 10mgs per day prescribed to me. Within 3 months i convinced my doc to prescribe me 40 mgs per day.

Its as easy as a weed scrip to get.

wow really? I had no idea it was that easy... I thought for sure u had to go through all the crap I went through to get it because its like classified as a schedule 2 drug...

First year university I failed a class and went to the doctor. Told him I think I had ADD, he said I would need to write a test and see a second doctor. After talking with him for a little bit longer he said he could clearly see I had ADD and never made me write the test or see the psychatrist. I had to sign a form saying I will never sell the pills and he sent me out with them. They also took the fail off of my transcript because it was a medical condition.

I don't know what the definition of a medical condition is. But if there is a pill you can take that allows you to succeed in academics or any other aspect of your life you might as well take it. I mean some people need quiet libraries to focus, other people need to meditate, and some people need to take amphetamines haha.
