i've cut off all junk food and soda because of adbusters. and the only ice cream i eat is ben and jerrys. (since their socially responsible.)

and i've finally convinced my family to eat Veagan twice a week.

so yea, adbusters is amazing, best mag out there. its really really awesome, can't describe how awesome it is.

i don't see that...i'm not hardcore enough to do that yet..but i'm only 15 and i will move on and eventually i'll start into boycotting and etc..but personally i watch adds and critize them, but i don't let them take effect..i don't drink pepsi or coke however..thats my first step haha

You guys are being hypocritical by letting that magazine effect you. Its a sort of reverse advertisement. Make your own descisions and do what you like, life is too short to worry about what is 'socially responcible'

First of all...its not hypocritical at all to read a mag and get ideas from it. Its not like the magazine has influenced me completely. Im a liberal, and its a liberal magazine and its giving me more knowledge about how to live as environmentally and socially responsibly as i can.

its still impossible for me to do this completely, im only 15. especially clothes! everyone piece of clothing is made in sweat shops almost. but i try to cut off as much as i can without changing my lifestyle, being that im only 15.

i cut off junk food because its incredibly bad considering the children diabities rate in the U.S. rite now. Also i cut off from Coke and Pepsi because they are horrible companies.

I still eat Ben and Jerry's because I have to get a little treat in there at least once a month...and i really want to support a company Ben Cohen founded.

Alright, frosty is a homo but I'm going to have to agree with him on the poser issue here. It's alright to want freedom and equality and all the rest of it, but if reading adbusters is your main contribution/source of knowledge than sit down. Now adbusters is a good magazine but i get the feeling that you nader reading mutherfuckers should probably hit your local books store and buy out the current events section. well phrosty, skiing requires you to ski on something corporate made, unless you want to make your own out of picnictables, which leaves me to none other to buy skis made by a rather large corporation, in terms of skiing there is nothing i can do, its just not possible

i don't understand how everyones allowed to let music and commercials influence them, but since i let an anti-big business magazine influence me its wrong. Its not like i didn't have anti-corporation beliefs before i read adbusters. They make good points in their magazine. And everyone else, if you want to know the real reason why i don't drink coke, go to google, type in Coke Death Squads, and go to the bbc link. i think thats a pretty damn good reason

My main point is: Adbusters has influenced me, but isn't me as a person, it has just help influence my ideas.

When someone reads a book, it influences them. When someone sees a commercial is probally will influence them to buy the product.

When someone heres a song, the lyrics mite influence them.

So why the fuck can't i let a magazine help influence me. Just because all you people are conservatives who are against adbusters, doesn't mean you have to call people who like the magazine posers because it influences their beliefs.

yeah, and also one of the points of adbusters is to show HOW HARD IT IS TO NOT BE INVOLVED WITH CORPORATE AMERICA....thats why they have buy nothing day. just because you like adbusters, doesn't mean you can't buy stuff, because its extremely hard in this country to live like that, for that matter any country.

as i see it, a person that reads adbusters, and believes in the ideolgies that it presents has begun to contribute to what i hope will be the eventual change of our current lifestyle.

you truly do have to start somewhere, and by going along with independent publications like adbusters (which i'll admit does exploit the very medium that it shows so much contempt for), a step has been taken. from this step hopefully come many more that are aimed in the right direction.

 
Anybody remember that letter that Adbusters recieved and published about putting out an all-text issue? Strange how they've seemed to become even more picture oriented since then. Bleh...
