Adam Delorme Deleted Instagram

Very interesting.. Something like a mythical creature.. Perhaps sledneckturbo has transcended the artificial world, to pursue effortless butters & straight airs, in a dimension beyond ours

Social media and pro skiers are a funny couple. And just the concept of deleting social media and having people think you're going AWOL is hilarious, too.

Asumming stuff but if I were him, Id probably be getting extremely annoyed with how much sponsors want you to make your social media accounts catologues for all their latest & greatest gear. They're probably contractually obligated too but I really find it hard to believe that a lot of you pros werent able to stomp that triple if it wasn't for your @atomicskis and @redbull fuel.

no disrespect to atomic, just using you guys as examples.

social media is whack. Why? Well its not the platforms such as IG or FB that are inherently bad, but the users themselves. Individuals are naturally oriented to be selfish and narcisstic, pair those attitudes with social media, and you get a big self-jerkoff, a display of how grandiose and amazing a life can be. That aside, social media is unhealthy of another reason - it is low grade mental food. You just spent an hour watching cat & fail videos on IG? Well, for one you're never going to get that hour back. Secondly, in that time, you could have read something or done something that helped you better your life.

I spent a week unplugged last week checking out the desert. God, was that nice. Its not good to have your brain stimulated by a screen everyday, it subtly changes you.

All that said, props to Delorme especially considering all the pressure he gets from sponsors. We would all be healthier and more progressed / advanced in our interests if we spent less time distracting ourselves with senselessness that can come from the internet.

Truth

I dont think AD is the kinda skier brands are wanting to push products for. I think comp skiers or more well known skiers are probably more likely to hav to do that stuff. Although AD is a very influential skier to many, I think brands like faction would probably use Guys like Candide to push a product.

Yeah Delomore gets more OG and behind the scenes by the season. I don't at all mean to say that he is irrelevant, but he definetly isn't "main stream" in the scene anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the younger kids these days don't even really know who he is.

Reminds me of Liam Downey.

Unplugging in nature is great but social media isnt bad. Sure there are people who zonbie into their screens, same with tv, food, anything.

Idk. I dont like how it gets used sometmes but it doesnt really matter. Everything in moderation, and if you hate something you can abstain. Dont like facebook, stop logging in.

If you waste time watching funny videos whatever. There are all kinds of ways to waste time. If it relaxes you than whatever.

Idk, i think people are too quick to blame things. And Ive seen way too many posts about how people are quitting social media. "Hey, im quiting facebook but im posting this on facebook so people notice how cool i am with hating facebook". And then like the people who post about how they quit cigs for good after 1day, theyre usually back into it with in a few weeks tops.

Never said the internet was inherently bad. I'm alluding to the fact that people generally aren't very disciplined and do not use the internet in a resourceful manner. Rather, a lot of people waste their time watching other people have sex or whatever else. Your time on earth is very limited and you have so much potential within you to become something. All those hours wasted online might be relaxing, but they sure as hell don't help you become your best self, which I personally think is the best thing we could each do to contribute to our species. And yeah, you make a good point about cigs and are helping reinforce what I say - we don't have very much self control and as a result do a lot of damage to our future self. Moderation is good, but seeing as the internet is so new and that we aren't that familiar with the psychological and physical sicknesses it can cause, we're not very good at using it moderately. Case and point - go to any public space and look at how many people are staring at their phones.

People waste time watching tv, hell people used to kill time watching people get hanged.

I dont think the "fact that people generally aren't very disciplined and do not use the internet in a resourceful manner" is a fact.

People aren't just watching other people have sex because theyre bored. They're watching porn because they're jerking off they're weeners because it feels good.

What are you doing thats so fantastic? There isn't a person that doesn't waste tme, there isn't a person going at 100%.

Live you're own life, and stop worrying about other people. Cool tou unplugged for a week once. You're sitting on nsg on newschoolers wasting time right now. Why not go skydiving, rocky mtn climbing? Go 2.7 seconds on a bull named Fumanchu?

What are you a psychologist now?

I mentioned that Ive seen plenty of zombie people. That said phones can be a pretty ducking helpful tool.

You sound like you did acid once while camping and realized how much better and more spiritual you are than everyone.Next step dreadlocks and being generally woke as fuck.

I just wasted a few minutes replying to you. Ill never get that time back. On my death bed Im sure it will be at the top of my list of regrets.

Instead of logging into newschoolers I should have gone and cured cancer, solved the refugee crisis, and saved humanity.

Oh well, maybe Ill just jerk off later and call it a day.

Peace

I'm actually sitting on the toilet, thank you very much. I'm also on NS so multitasking ha! But I did just waste 60 seconds typing this that I'll never have back. 60 seconds less of Netflix or Xbox. Fuck.

Nice job wasting your life. I haven't pooped in a week. I'm maximizing my time on this earth

I'm guessing writing essay-long responses on NS qualifies for this very limited time you have on Earth, huh? You sound like such a pompous jackass.

Wow, a week unplugged! Do an AMA!

This post comes off so pretentious and condescending.

The point of the post was not to brag that I took a week off. I've been focusing on a lot of my bad habits lately and have been able to curb many of them. Purposeless internet / phone use is still a problem for me especially since it waste a lot of time which could be used more productively. Nothing wrong with trying to make your life better

For real though, when will there be another delorme edit? I can watch walk in the park 1 and 2 forever particularly 2 since in my humble opinion that butter landing at mammoth is something we might just never see ever again.
