actually proposing a video game

the main person we want to take the game is microsoft cause amped has the best format so its not gonna be playstation controls

 
Instead of being a pro you should be your own skier that you create and you earn money when you win comps or get photos in magazines to buy new skis and jackets and other crap untill you get sponserd like in the X games snowboarding game

 
i know you mentioned a feature for pictures to sell to mags like freeze and other mags for money in the game, well since you'r asking movie companies to put some suport in to this, why not a feature, where you get a video of your run, and you'd be able to sell your 'segment' to pbp or msp ect. and plus it be cool to be able to edit your own video segment. change angles of your run, add music, do the freeze frame, and rotation thing i think it was in propaganda, what ever, it be great to incorperate that shit in there, because you don't get that in other action sports games.

 
You cant just have a ski game be like everyother snowboard game out there it wont sell to the companies or the people you need something original that hasnt been done before something that would blow everybodys minds away. Im not sure what that is but heres my idea. How about you would have a virtual ski town like Whistler or Park city or where ever and you are just another unknown trying to become the best. With comps and everything and being able to go to the back country and youd need to be able to earn money to buy sleds and stuff and ud also have a whole town to go jib around meet new people meet photographers and like have a trampoline place where it would help you and teach you tricks and you could meet pros there and they could help you get known. I mean just think or how we as skiers life and incorperate all the stuff we do into a game and then that would be the coolest game of all and it would blow everyones mind away Just my thoughts.

yo pete good ideas, but think about playing them in a video game, i mean jumping on a trampoline in a video game aint to EXCITING. but still good ideas. we need a good storyline, original but still having it exciting and fun to play.

If freeze or any magazines are willing to back this, we should get them to do a small article on it, to really get some recognition going.

 
guys, if we can get activisions email or sumthin, we could all start commenting about making a skiing game and if they get that many seperate e-mails, they'll start thinkin gthat this is what they will think people really would want to play. it might work. then start sending ideas and recommend ski videos to watch.

Ilik ethe idea of making it a adventure game as well as a skiing game, that sounds really cool. The tramping thing is good like it tells you what to do and then you do it and if you did it right the guy does it on the tramp and its like, good job and then you go do it on the snow. Meeting pros around town is sweet too, and having a game based on decisions would be cool, like od you want to enter the compettion or save your money for a sled? Money would be a cool addition except not gay tony hawk style, something more comprehensive where you need to buy your gear, your sled, your shovels to build bigger backcountry hits or something and your passes and fees into competitions and stuff.

if harvey posted the idea of a new game on thne news page and asked poorboyz and msp he would probably get alotta response. the main problem with jonny moseley game is that it wasnt advertised enuf.

if it was set up like Tony 4 and played like Tony 4 and that snowboarding game. i would definetly buy a copy and so would nearly every member on newschoolers.

 
What you guys really need to do is ask for support from non skiers like snowboarders, skaters, or other people who dont ski, it would give game producers a better understanding that what we are doing is way beyond what it was almost a decade ago. What im suprised no one on this sight has touched on is skier style. They should have different riders with different styles for instance Tanner (monkey steeze) Dash (slow spins, equal natural/unnatural) Candide (tweaky style, lots of spinning, goes really big) Boyd (rock and roll, lots of switch) Belanger/Larose (pipe) Pep, CR, Pollard, Douglas (all-round {Pep, Pollard, lots of switch in the backcounty} CR and Douglas, lots of spinng of cliffs ie: back country slopestyle and stuff) I like the idea of having Seth as a bonus character. The original newcanadian airforce for bonus characters aswell. You should be able to ride in parks (after you get money) where photographers go, and if your shot is good enough, you can get it on the cover of some mag (same format as amped). I think this would be good for skiing as lots of people are switching back.

K2 rippers points are awesome. We should also add a feature where say after you beat pros in like a trick-off, they teach you a move(like in amped). That way you progress as you age and go farther in the game. The ideas about different characters having different 'traits and qualities' is also AWESOME. Also, being able to edit your pro or skier, would be a great addon, as in all games. A terrain park creator would be good.

-A new major theme is needed to appeal to everyone though. Maybe incorporating some THUG or GTA.

-Maybe we should make a combined game? With snowboarding and skiing, to appeal to a large genre of people, satisfying the skiers, and the boarders. Something like this would MAJORLY increase sales to that game. It could follow an amped style, but have both skiing and boarding careers.

-Maybe we just need to have another hybrid type of game, resulting in a racing career mode, and a freestyle career mode.

-Basically, something new just needs to proposed, a new innovative idea that appeals to pretty much everyone, which has alredy been stated, but yea.

hey we could make a level/task in the game where you have to crash into 20 snowboarders. that would be fun. also we could make it where you can enter into the olympics and x-games and win money. And on career mode, you could make your own company and design skis and earn skill points to make them better.

Ok...that is a sick idea. But none of this some skier proskier crap. It needs to be something original. Ever since tony hawk everygame has been like Sean Palmers pro snowboarder and stuff. And if you want a game to sell its gonna need to apeal to everyone.......think about it....i hate to say it but far more people would be interested in a snowboard game then a skiing game so you need someone who kids will see and think....wow hes cool im totally gonna mooch 50 bucks off my parents and buy this game. And i think you need to really make good controls. Just use the controls that most games use because thats what everyone is used to

 
Dont forget the company Z-axis, after all they did make an inline game, so they have a basic trick engine, and there Dave mirra series was really good control and game wise.
