well i got my ACT score back...and i got an 18...which is really lame for the people who take the SAT...but i was just curious if an 18 can still get you into like state schools? if any of you have gotten accepted with an 18?
 
one of my friends that goes to MSU got an 18, but he was on academic probation for the first year. best bet is study and try again
 
18 isn't very good. Might wanna take it again chief. But you'll be able to get into your states colleges most likely.
 
Yeah i know its low...hopefully i can roll into a state school...i'm wasn't ever planning on any universities...just like 3 state schools i had in mind.
 
90-something percent of people who take it again do better. just take it again. you'll be fine.

it's out of 36, plus a 12 point writing portion now. I got a 29 on the first part and a 10 on the writing. I was hoping for higher, but oh well.
 
i got a 17 the first time, i was hungover off tequila, literally zero hours of sleep and still high from smoking the night before. (i thought it was just sheesha in the hookah...) i couldnt even make it half way through the sections cause i was like falling asleep and shit, poor descision on my part to go out the night before.
 
my friend got a 2250 on her sats, pissed me off cause shes a fucking retard who only know about cell phones and shopping.
 
wow i feel lame compared to a bunch of you all. and i got good grades too...i have a B- average...and am in the top 40% of my class so hopefully that will make up for it.
 
for some reason I wasn't real good at high school, mostly Bs and C's, but I did real good on ACTs. I think I'm naturally a good standardized tester. oh well, helps for $$$
 
I changed when they added the Essay portion. IDK what it's off of now, I took it when the Essay didn't count still.
 
if you do well, some schools let you skip intro classes if you score high enough. (I placed out of my quantitative reasoning 1 requirement)

my composite score was a 29
 
i was fairly hungover when i took mine. i drank a dirty thirty with one other person and we only gave a few away, and i scored a 25, or 24, something like that.
 
I got a 21 on my ACT, and I thought I was done with all that stuff, but now I got a bigger and badder test like that for dental school
 
yeah...i had almost a 5th of tequila and a bunch of beer that night, i was just too hungover it was a dumb ass mistake.

but to the dude whos thread this is.... take them again. garunteed you will do better, and its worth it.
 
i got a 27 the first time and a 29 the second time. definatly retake them it boosts em up. and dont take them high or stoned or whatever. shits important. it got me into uvm.

if u wanna know how u stack up for state schools, go to collegeboard.com and search for a school your looking at. it will give you the middle percentage of kids scores and their gpas and all that
 
Not trying to claim, but I got a 35. But that doesn't necessarily mean I'm that smart, those things don't matter that much after college. I'm just good at that sort of testing, which isn't all that helpful now, besides getting nice scholarship.
 
i got a 31 but my high school gpa was only a 3.2 so i got no scholarships. wish i could go back and redo highschool.
 
thanks for the college board tip...school i hope to get into 78% of the poeple are int he top 50%...im in the top 50% of my class so thats good
 
Lol, my post got deleted cause I said i had a bad GPA and good ACT but still got a scholarship? Or was it something else?...Kinda relavent to GPA/test score value discussions
 
It all depends on where you want to go to school. If that will get you into the school you want to go to, don't bother taking it again. Otherwise, take it again.
 
i got a 19 the first time and a 21 the second. both scores suck but i still got in a state school. Colleges want your money not your scores!
 
im prettymuch in the same boat as you man. got a 31 on ACT's and a 2100 on SAT's but my grades are soooooo fucking bad. i barely crack the top 50% of my class (granted my class is full of geniouses) and i dont really try...at all.
