i search bared so don't start with that...

I just got this stuff from my doctor called tetracycline he said it works good and only takes like a month and a half along with some face special face wach i gotta refrigorate. i asked him about acutane but he said that it was really sever and that i didn't need it... just wondering if anyone else has been on it or heard about it...

i was on acutane when i was in 10th grade it worked but, skin gets soo dryed out and lips get wicked chaped, i wouldnt do it in the winter though, need blood tests every month though

I've heard toothpaste works but also dries everything out. I get acne on my chin from putting leaning on my hands and from facial hair. I use to have a condition where my hair follicles couldn't shed the dead skin and it would cause alot of small bumps wherever there was a hair.

that's why i have acne on my chin, from fucking putting my hands on it in class? holy shit, that is so retarded, but an easy fix i suppose if that is actually why.

i don't really have bad acne at all, a little on my forehead from having long hair, and even smaller amount on my chin. possibly from that^ hahah. anyways, i use differin and it works really good. plus he gave me some kind of pill thing to take idk what it is...

Ive been on tetreacycline for about a year. It keeps it down but doesnt by any means get rid of it. I got the same jibe from my doctor that accutane was too severe.

I'm on minocycline right now, i'm guessing it's similiar. I used to be on doxycycline, and i hated it. If you didn't take it with enough water, it would get stuck in your esophogus, which would feel like i was having a minor heart attack for several days, it was honestly that bad. But minocycline is fine, it doesn't seem like it does too much, but it helps keep my acne in check.

Yup I realized it at the beginning of the school year and I've made a conscious effort to stop doing it but sometimes it's hard to stop.

that really would make sense though. cause i don't really have acne anywhere else but on my forehead which usually happens with long hair. but nowhere else on my face, except my chin, and i ALWAYS sit in class hands on chin. hah ill have to try and not do it and see if it makes a difference...

i was on accutane for a month but i started having nosebleeds and he took me off of it. im on erthromycin right now and don't know yet if it works or not

What is it from then? I've been to a dermatologist and doctor and both of them have told me the reason for acne is pores filled with anything from grease to dirt. You have both on your hands.

I was never on Accutane, my doctor recommended it, but I was depressed at the time and i was warned about possibility of suicide.

i am also on minocycline. it worked really well for a year, but then my acne slowly got worse again. so they are bumping me up to acutane. and im sketched as hell about the depression and all the other side affects. and plus my friend did it, and he said he got really bad acne like tons of white heads for a while before it got worse. like a worse flare than you get from minocylclene.

mines not really tht bad, but i used panoxyl, i would recommend proactiv tho, causes its guaranteed or money back, just make sure u take a pic of yourself b4 using.

damn. i should've taken a picture cause it really isnt doing much for me. It's kind of holding it off but its not getting rid of it by any means. it sucks.

fucking pro activ doesnt do shit, klear action or sometihng that i have works way bett. and its half the price (its a mock)

I was on accutane last year for like 6 months. I never had bad acne just what I did have was causing scars. It definately worked as I don't get anybreakouts a year later. When I was on it, it kind of sucked because you get so dry, and i mean dry all over aka. taking shits hurts like a mofo and uget ass bleeding haha gnarly stuff. It definately didnt make me depressed but I'm like the happiest person i know so ya.....

accutane is def the way to go if your acne starts to get bad and you want it totally gone.

i used it over a year ago, and yea the dry lips sucked majorly, but i knew the result was gonna be worth the 'suffering.' it's simple to do, blood tests were fun for me so i didn't care, and i liked always having vanilla flavored chapstick with me. any questions feel free to PM me

i took tetracycline and after a week oucan see the difference and that was when i was in the 10th grade and i have had clean skin ever since...its been 4 years

apple cider vinegar firstly won't work, and it is the most foul thing you will ever ever taste. it tastes like someone squeeged the sweat of a bums nutsack.

if you drink more than a capful you might just puke.

acutane is some gnar bar shit.... it worked for a while i was on it for like 6 months thru ski season and now i have been off it for 6 months and it has fully came back so i dont think acutane is really worth it it made me like depressed way dry skin everywhere and bloody noses all the time. haha anyways im just puttin that apple cider vinegar on my face now at night and it seems like its clearing up.

tetrotrycycline(sp) didn't do much in my opinion. Accutane is harsh, super chapped lips is the worst part, but it gets rid of it for good. I was on other shit for like a year before I used acutane

my docor for real has put me on everyhting out there more than once and nothing has worked for long, i dont think acutane is worth it, not a very comfertable expirence

i was on tetrocyclin for a little while, it didn't do much for me, but neither did anything else until i took accutane. shits gnarly, but it definately gets rid of your acne.

my bro is taking tetrocyclin right now and it's helping him out a bunch, so i guess it just depends on the person.

i was on minocycline during the summer. It keeps shit under control while your on it. shit made me dizzy though and gave me a real low tolerance to alcohol.

acutane works really well, but it has some sketchy/kinda scary side effects. people have killed themselves because they were depressed and there have been strong indications that the drug played a roll in the depression. that being said, if you promise you won't kill yourself, give it a try if it's recommended to you by a doctor. the shit works. if you want to just use a topical solution, take a look at Proactiv. yes, that shit Jessica Simpson is always in commercials for. that stuff or Retin-A works really well.

i used to have baaad acne when i was in middle/high school. Acutane, Proactiv, and Retin-A are the only three out of a whole bunch of medications i've tried (i had a dermo i saw at least once a month for over eight years because of this shit and tried more meds than you can shake a stick at) that i've had good results with. Acutane WILL work. Proactiv works for everyone i've talked to about it. Retin-A, while it seems rarely talked about at the dermo, is good shit. talk to your dermo, but what i found was my ultimate solution was Acutane orally, Proactiv face wash every morning and night, and Retin-A for trouble spots. Acutane is nice because it supposedly stops acne for years after you stop taking it, Proactiv is a solid skin treatment that just makes your skin look better regardless of if you have acne or not and you should continue using it for a while even when your skin has cleared up, and Retin-A is a really strong cream that dries out acne and will eliminate your nastiest pimple in about 24hrs or less. combine the three and you have a med that stops acne for years, a med that actively makes your skin look healthier, and a med that will take care of the real problem spots.

Hahahahahaha Wow I'm sorry but in my life, I have NEVER met anyone, nor known anyone who has met someone that Proactiv worked for. I tried almost all acne meds, including eBay-homemade ones. NOTHING worked but Accutane, which CURED my acne.

it works and plus its good for you,, and it doesnt taste any worse than JD just dilute it with some juice

i know a chick who took acutane 3 separate times and it always comes back..

i took doryx for a while, and now i just use differin gel,

Well to start it out, my Normal Doc put me on Tetrocycline, it worked, kind of, but she decided to ramp it up a bit to Doxocyl, which is almos the same thing. Then I went to see my uncle, who is a DERMO, and knows what's up. He put me on some Menoblahblah stuff, and after a few months I came back bitching about this and that, and he said I could do accutane, that its a miracle drug, and that the counts of suicide had nothing to do with taking the drug. The kid that crashed the plane wasn't even taking the drug, he just had it at home. I've been on Accutane for about 2 months, and my "break out" stage is over, knock on wood.

On to the side effects I have witnessed. My lips are chapped as fuck. I have to re apply chap stick about every hour or they get nasty and scabby. Every morning the skin on my face is dry as hell, but my uncle being a dermo, I have some lotion stuff that is bomb. Also the skin on my arms and hands is starting to get dry, but its not to bad. I get some nasty dry ass boogers, and when I pick them out I get some nasty nose bleeds. I've bled all over my carpet in the middle of the night, because the blood just flows. I had a terrible nose bleed at school that lasted for 10 minutes, and ruined my shirt. I get mood swings. I'm not making it up, I actually do get mood swings. I've felt happiness all day at school, and then I come home and stuff is still going good for me, but all the sudden I'm down in the dumps. It pisses me off, but the medicine actually started to kick in and it works nice, so I'm dealing with it. The monthly blood test isn't a huge deal, especially cause the guy I've been going to is a jolly old fat guy who is hilarious. It also raised my cholestrol to a ridiculous level (285) but I also have a cholestrol problem in my family's genes, so it was kind of expected. Theres not much I can do about it except eat as healthy as possible and ride it out for the next four months.

So dude, go for accutane, my uncles a dermo, and he'll put anyone on it, my acne wasn't even that bad, and he's trusting it to help me out.

Good luck :)

I dont know much about all these different acne treatments mentioned but I had acne and I used to use those oxy pads. They worked better the nothing but still werent the best. I read in a similar thread a long while back and some one had mentioned just washing your face with water twice a day. I tried it and thats what Ive been doing for a while now. I works well, Maby Im lucky and have good skin but try it. Your acne will get worse for about 3 days(atleast thats waht happend to me) but then it goes away. Also grow a beard I found that if occasionaly I just dont bother to shave that the acne goes away.

I'm taking minocycline as well for my acne and it really isn't doing shit. My face is fucked, one day it will look really clear, i mean CLEAR. then the next day its beet red and i have 5 new pimples. i've been on it for about 2 and a half weeks now so i'm giving it more time.

But my mom always said to not touch my face because the oils from your hands get on your face. but my dermotologist said that acne is from a hormone imbalance causing blocked pores so the oil can't get out from your skin. touching your face might cause a little acne but not that much. but my mom has been tellin me that for years so i freak out when people touch my face.

but i've had i guess second hand experience with accutane. my good friend on my soccer team took it for a long time. you could notice his face being super dry all the time and he had huuuge mood swings. someone said earlier that alcohol is not good with accutaine and they are right. my friend was normally cool when he drank but when he got on accutain he went freakin crazy and would threaten to kill himself and other people. but, his face is clear now and things seemed to work out. he seemed to have a really rough couple of patches when he was taking it though.

Acutane was the best thing that happened to me.

I had brutal acne, and it took four courses of acutane, but it got rid of it.....as long as you have chapstick you're golden

tetracyclene didnt do jack all except make everything scab up
