Acer Aspire AS6930

I am just buying a laptop for senior year of high school and do not need anything fancy. What does everybody think about this laptop. I may be doing some minor editing so the HDMI port is good because compression ratio does not decrease when uploading footage. Also it has a decent processor. I just wanted to know others opinions, I don't want to spend over 650$ because in a year I am going to be dropping money on a mac. If anyone has anything better shoot me up.

Thanks

Why would you buy a laptop for your senior year? Just wait another year til college and laptops will be cheaper, faster, and lighter.

i agree. im gonna be a senior also but im waiting till next year to buy a new laptop (even though i dont even need one at all right now lol, my laptop is plenty powerful to last me at least a year)

but wait till college and by then you can buy a top of the line laptop that will last you at least a few years in college

the one youre looking at right now is about as powerful as a top of the line laptop from last year, so its gonna be relatively weak soon. wait and get one thats much better

because our home computer shit the bed and my dad uses his laptop at work. My mom no longer gets a laptop as a teacher like she used to and that is what I primarily used. Also I am a photo student and it is very useful to have you own computer so you can work on projects in and out of school.

Usually I like your posts but that was just an ignorant statement.

Acer's are fine OP. Like any computer, if you don't know what to do with it, it's probably your fault for the computer fucking up.

Just stick it out and buy an even better computer next year with the $650 that you're about to spend... Use buddies computers, go to the library, etc.

Well, i guess i have a biased opinion, because my mom has an acer laptop, my my brothers computer was acer. The laptop barley runs any more, the wireless internal adapter broke in a year, now the fan blew so it cant stay on longer then half an hour. The desktop blew in 2 years, video went, CPU went and then finally the mother board.

I understand some computers have differnt internal parts, but these were all stock parts from acer.

Oh, and my dads acer actually started smoking out the back.

So thats my experience with acer, sorry to have dissapointed you man, but now you can see where im coming from?

i had an acer for about 8 months before the screen socket cracked from just regular wear and tear and the warranty didnt cover it which was lame.

From my knowledge, acers arent the highest quality laptops. I would recommend an HP or Sony etc. All laptops at any price nowadays are going to be perfectly capable of doing all the usual crap...

I suggest looking on a site like www.newegg.com... it has loads of great deals on computers. You can get top of the line-type things for a lot less.
