Accurate description of an NSer?

this might provoke some hate...but I'm just seeing a basic group of people who are on here:

1) loves skiing (duh)

2) mountain biker, blader, or skateboarder (seeing a lot of trend whores who want to start inline just 'cause of NS)

3) wears baggy clothing

4) smokes weed

5) hates on pretty much everything (you're different, FUCK YOU)

Accurate? Seems to be what NS has developed into...
 
if enough people talk about it, it will change. and sure, NS does a lot of good, but it also creates huge fights and can exclude entire segments of the industry just because of its single-mindedness.
 
NS is not one person, in fact there are over 100000 members (i know a lot are dead accounts) so just like everywhere else in the world (not just on the internet) their are alternate views and therefore arguments. nothing is going to change dramatically, decide for yourself what you want to listen to or ignore.
 
I like skiing, don't wear baggy clothes, don't skate etc, don't smoke weed, and generally don't hate.

So I don't think thats an accurate description of an NSer.
 
nah, if everyone wre like that, this community would be pretty gay

freeskiing is supposed to be about doin what u want, not conformity
 
yeah hating on haters is getting old...maybe instead of calling somebody a jackass, we should give em some love, maybe it will change with positivity!

2) life revolves around skiing (ecinomicaly, gives things up to ski, lives to ski, etc...)

3) prefers other extreme action sports (wakeboarding, cliff jumping, skatboarding, etc)

4) better know how to party

5) best group of people alive
 
there are super lame NS kids

there are baller nsers, emo nsers, poser nsers, chill nsers, weedheads, fat Nsers

just like anything this big there is no way to create an "accurate description of an NSer
 
I hate how you think you can categorize everyone like that...

shit I fit into 5, i really fit in all of them except for 2 and 4...so I guess just 1, 3, 5.
 
Get rid of everything you said, and just write this: kids who love to go out and have FUN, and the best way to do that is to ski, preferrably in the park.

and to thread creator:

i have seen alot of the things (that you stated) in the forums, i think that at least 1 of those things could describe most people on this site except it would be hard to categorize such a large group into five requirements (probably not a good word)
 
those are acurate stereotypes of nsers

stereotypes are bad

most us do have our moments of complete stupity

and if your yauch then its always your moment

but the best decription i can think of is that we are a bunch of guys and girls who love to ski and love the industry and we have found a way to share that love with eachother

the first 3 apply to me. i dont smoke, i dont think i have ever hated on anything to do with skiing- why do you people hate on skiing at all. i love everything about skiing i dont care if SOMEONE ELSE is riding no poles or tight pants. If it really bothers you soo much something is wrong with you. Also, why do people hate on what the pros are doing so much, i always see people hate things like pros styles etc. and am just thinking why dont you go out there and do it yourself....

i treat everyone with a level of respect, and i expect((dont usually see) the same level of respect from others..
 
#1 and the first part of #2 apply to me, but the other ones not at all.....well i probably hate a litle bit but I try not too.

i wear tight pants, and i don't smoke weed anymore.  but i do like skiing and hating on things.  
 
you are basically the reason why people hate skiiers, because you instill into peoples heads that we all like to smoke and baggy clothes, i for one am only number 1 but talk about a biased and prejudice oppinion

i don't hate kids that are "Different" i hate kids that think there more informed and awesome because they wear tight pants.
 
yea. copy that, never done weed, I do MTB but bikes cost way to much, and wtf is all this "lollerblading ftw !" I also fully agree with the post about NS representing everyone, no matter what, I don't hate too much, unless someone else posts "what music should I ski to ?"
 
I don't think I've seen such a high concentration of people open about not being those NS steriotypes. I think that usually, the loud NS members are the haters, the potheads, the baggy wanna be G's, and all those possibly negative things. Probably most NS'ers aren't like that, because we're all different, but NS gets that image because those people are more open about loudly showing their opinions.

The only thing that we all share in common is our love for the hills, as has been stated quite a few times already.
